It’s a Mars hydro tsw2000 on 100% about 18 inches from the canopy right now, I will keep raising it as the girls stretch.
I actually bought this little guy when I was first kicking around the idea of growing and ended up keeping it after I bough the Mars hydro and now have it hanging with the four strips angled so they get the sides where par is lower from the main light.. not sure how much that helps but I can’t imagine it hurts
You gotta use Amazon correctly. They label them by best seller, most affordable, best rated. plant light off Amazon
In my experience it hasn’t been finicky at all! Its funny you say that because I have an alocasia polly, begonia maculata and ficus ruby (rubber tree) all sitting next to my trio-star. oddly they all pretty much get the same care: distilled water when at a level 2 on my meter, high humidity and bright indirect light.
I think would be successful with the trio-star. I say go for it! Just make sure you start with a healthy plant :) grow light
Edit : feel free to message me with any questions if you end up getting a stromanthe triostar!
There is one I got on amazon that I really like because it gas a timer so it turns itself on and off every day. This isnt the exact same one I bought, but it looks similar. And it's on sale!

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZHY1B4C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_6J3dFbGB45RB6 this is them, I'd say they are doing good with slow and steady growth, I think if you can get sunlight definitely choose that but I'd you're in a situation where you don't get much sun I'd recommend these
Got it on amazon, these are the lights i bought
Thank you much. I got one of these cheepo twisty lights. It works perfectly. Cheepo Grow Light
I've seen this mentioned before but haven't found a lot of additional info. I already have this LED light, would it be enough? Does it matter if it's blue or red LED?
you could also get some grow lights if you want to keep it somewhere other than a window. i know it’s a bit of an expense but you could try some cheap ones from amazon. these are the ones i use

Does anyone know if phals can grow adequately under blurple lights? I picked up a beautiful little Sogo x Yenlin "Coffee" variegata about 3 weeks ago and have had to put it under blurple lights since then as I'm waiting for more parts to come back in stock for my new greenhouse.
Ooo that is tough... they do need so much light. I actually move mine outside to my balcony in winter for more sun as it shifts. I noticed my sunlight is already shifting so I will have to rearrange. I can't buy anymore because I have run out of sunny spots! My grow lights seem to work pretty well, got these from Amazon.
The one I initially used was this one . These types of lights are often marketed as "80W" or "100W" but that's actually the incandescent equivalent; real power draw is generally around 10-20W. I hate that sellers are so dishonest, it makes grow light shopping much harder.
I have a whole bunch of grow lights and the ones that my succs really thrive under are sansi 36W bulbs (in a gooseneck desk lamp, pointed down at the plants). The 24W model is good enough to keep them from stretching over the winter. I also have a mars hydro 100W panel that really kicks butt, but it's not subtle!
If you do look for new ones, just keep in mind that the whole idea that blurple is superior is false; full spectrum will give you what you need without turning your home into a nightclub!
My apartment also has a space issue so I bought a plant UV light with clip and bendable arms for each light section. It also has different settings. Plant UV Light
Both of them were from Amazon, under $30 so I didn't have much hope lol. First one was a white light, but this one had the red/blue/purple instead. I think it was this one, or one of the other drop ship listings for the same item- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZHY1B4C My plants seemed to do much better this winter with it on purple all the time. The timer function is nice but mine is 12 hours plus 10 minutes so I need to reset it once a week or so lol
I got some cheap Chinese ones from Amazon just because I had a couple fluorescent bulbs burn out recently. I got the EZorkas brand, I misremembered it’s 3, 5 and 12 hour timer another one I was looking at had the traditional set it yourself timer built in.
EZORKAS 9 Dimmable Levels Grow Light
Sorry shit the bed posting a link
It was actually just a cheap amazon light like this that was mystery-gifted to me. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZHY1B4C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_K7WZ9WR06A5YCTB1NAKP Ironically the light died right after the first bud finally opened. I’m going to stick with LED.
I am using these lights. I have 2 sets to cover a few shelves of my plant rack and they seem to enjoy these lights! I purchased them back in June and they are still holding up.
He bought a few of these. They work really well.
Thanks for the reply, ya those are some valid concerns you bring up. would something like this work?
I couldn't find the wattage/lumens on the page. what would you suggest?

Hi friend! I’ve had really good luck with these lights and similar. I got mine from Amazon about two years ago but there are plenty of other places to buy if you are trying to avoid Amazon. I also keep mine near a window but not directly in the sunlight, I water twice a week, and give liquid fertilizer once a month. Definitely no expert, but my monstera puts out about one new leaf a month.
Good luck!
I use this Led Grow Light from Amazon! I usually just leave it on 6-12 hours out of the day!
I mist & fan with just the lid every 2-4 hours. I spray the walls to keep it moist, and then lightly mist the surface!
I’m not pro but I’ve done good amounts of research and my first grow went really well and this one is proving to be even better!
For the light: I got it a year ago and really only use it during the winters. But when I use it I keep it on the timer for 8hrs-10hrs each day and I alternate every other day between blue and red lights. And in all honestly I’m not totally sure the difference but I read it helps for different stages and since I have some props and some adults I figure why not.
As for “sun-stress” it took me a while to notice it last year (first year getting the lamp) and I thought they were dying cause of the dramatic color changes (I also didn’t look into sun-stress and over drying when I first got the lights). But they were slow at first and then took off one day it was neat to find out that they were growing and not actually dying like I thought. I’d say maybe a month after using it I say a difference. But I think this year that may happen sooner!
This is the one I got, but tbh I should of just gotten one with 2 heads. I only use 1 of the heads at a time. Also it's really nice because you can dim it, so when i observe my gecko at night I dim it down all the way and put the light on red. That way it doesn't disturb her as much!
Two sets of LEDs from amazon... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZHY1B4C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_QYSyFbJTX5DTM
That one and another one with only 3 lights... i only have 3 plants. Is it possible to reverse popcorn buds? I was hoping for a larger harvest paying $60 for 5 seeds and only 3 germinated.
I just ordered this on Amazon
It should be here today so I can’t speak on it’s effectiveness but it’s affordable and the reviews are great. I liked this option because I rent so I can clip this in random places around my apartment and not worry about installing lights in random places or trying to find bulbs that work in existing fixtures. This is mostly for my calatheas because they are already struggling so in my head they’ll be worse in winter lol I also plan on getting a humidifier!
Hi, I'm a newbie, too and I live in a basement with absolutely zero natural light.
I just started collecting houseplants at the beginning of May, but I bought two full spectrum LED lights with timers and I leave them on the plants for about nine hours per day. For the most part, they seem to be doing just fine. I killed a fiddle leaf that I bought on a whim before researching how hard it was, and two coleus didn't make it either -- but everything else is still alive. I have two peace lilies, four pothos, a snake plant, a spider plant, two pepperomia, a monstera, and two coleus that I was sure where going to die but they seemed to acclimate. I also have a money tree but I'm not sure if that is thriving, it seems not to be doing much at all.
These are the lights I bought off amazon: https://www.amazon.com/crecimiento-Regulables-Interior-Temporizador-Interruptor/dp/B07ZHY1B4C
Good luck! It can be done!
Of course! The ones that these were sitting under were from amazon, something similar to these. grow lights

Wow, thank you for that! I’m very lucky that my first order, I purchased 6 succulents and I did not have the wherewithal to check for pests, did not contain any! Now I know better lol I didn’t know there was a special powder for pests, I will look into that, thank you!! I keep mine in my room where the AC is on at night but they aren’t super close to the AC, my room is small so they aren’t far either. I leave my ceiling fan on at all times for air flow. I was going to repot them into terracotta pots but I thought with the bonsai jack soil, they would dry entirely too quickly. 5000 lumens sounds like that is nice and strong for them, not that I know a lot lol I currently have a a blue/red LED full spectrum grow light which came up as a top grow light for succulents. I later found out thru this sub that it was def not lol I just ordered and received this afternoon Mars Hydro ts1000 Grow Light so I’m hoping this helps. i was warned that it is much stronger so i will have to acclimate my guys. i just hope i get their care down so i can grow my collection lol
I cannot believe the change in your champagne after only 2 months! See, I feel like my succulents don’t really show such drastic improvement/changes like this. That’s what I’m aiming for 🤞🏼
ya rotate the plant once a week when you water them or buy this clip on light.
I got two of these and they worked very well for starting seedlings and for supplementing my iDOO hydroponic kit when my Tiny Tim Tomato plants outgrew the height of that kit's lighting.
The ones in the picture are these 🥰 They seem to work great!! Plus I’ve had them for over a year and haven’t had any issues
I got these from Amazon:

It’s kind of hard to say what the best is! I only know what I’ve used. I have one of these that I use for groups of plants. It’s very adjustable. I also have two of these that I use to light individual larger plants that I keep in gloomy corners for aesthetic reasons. I’m pleased with the lights I have for the way I use them. The two-bulb lights aren’t intrusive to the decor of my room and actually look really nice. The one with multiple arms is great for a large group of plants. It’s less aesthetically-pleasing, but it stays in a rarely-used guest room where I send my plants if they need some extra light, so I don’t really care what it looks like.

Here is the link to these grow lights that I purchased back in October and they worked so well that I bought a second one (a little different). I run them about 8-12 hours a day and my plants really love them; spring time is approaching so it might not be a need but it wouldn’t hurt to get one :)

I started out using cheap Amazon grow lights until they broke down on me yesterday. Maddy had one of the arms just above her. I switched to one of these bad guys now and I’m curious to see the effect it will have on her.

Legit just ordered this grow light from Amazon, primarily for my VSOH as it’s starting to lose some of its pinkish hue due to lack of sun. Reviews are great!

One option I use for my small cacti (and growing seedlings) that works well: Moveable Head 80W
The arms have to be relatively close to/above the cactus.
For my big guys (cereus, tricho) I use much stronger and intense lights: 100W LED
You can use any growlight but I found that at least 50W works best. I don’t have good sunlight at all but my grow lights have prevented etoliation in my cacti.
I just got a full-spectrum light for my succulents that has both red and blue LEDs. Could be a bunch of those.
