If you have a hall way at home that's taller than a door frame this bar is the one I have and it's pretty great:
FEIERDUN Doorway Pull Up and Chin Up Bar Upper Body Workout Bar with No Screws & Safe Locking Mechanism for Home Gym Exercise Fitness Max Load 440 LBS (Blue, L28.3~36.2") https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L6F6JG7/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_56K26JMPVSTXEFE40VGJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Only thing I don't like about it is the grip is just two padded fabric bits. Wish it had knurling on it or something rubbery and grippy
Has anyone bought these non screw friction type pull-up bar? Are they any good ? These look nice because I think I can hang them high in my corridor and hang rings off them.
Hi folks,
I'm looking to add a pullup bar to our garage but we're very tight on space and I'm having to be creative (or at least, canvas y'all for creativity!).
I was thinking of using the stairs to the garage. Per the caption on the second pic, I want the pullup bar to go at the bottom half of stairs, in front of sawhorses, but the stud on the left wall (16" from end) doesn't align with right (normal width stud ~2" from wall, then 4" thick stud 18" from wall).
However, the whole of roof section shows up as stud. In pic 3 you can see that above this is flooring and then a cupboard.
I've looked at various, different, pullup bar options. They all need to go straight into a parallel stud (i.e. not the sidewalls since the studs don't align), and none are removable, which would be a plus.
So direct questions/thoughts/etc:
How risky is it for me to mount something to the ceiling? Studfinder saying it's all stud confuses/worries me, but then IDK much about floor construction in the US (or anywhere tbh).
There are removable solutions, but this one only seems to be available in the small size which wouldn't work for the width of our opening, and I presume that it'd have to be pressed against stud anyway, so that wouldn't work.
Install 2x4 across the right wall between the studs, with a notch. Cut another bit of 2x4 with stabilisers and a notch, install in left wall. Drop bar into notches, use, remove. See Pic4. Thoughts on this?
Thanks in advance!
I bought this tension-based pullup bar last year during COVID and it's served me well! A bit annoying to set up and take down but super simple. It's great because you can set it to whatever height you want, so you can do things from muscle-ups to Australian pullups.
