I recommend Proko's Youtube channel,
Drawabox is also very good drawing channel
well, the bargue plates are helpful, but it depends on what you want to do. Do you want to draw portraits and figures in a traditional sense then yes they are very helpful and are a great way to start. However, if you wanna be an animator, concept artist, or do anything like that then I would suggest on some other books. I recommend Steve Huston's book , wonderful artist, a great teacher, and taught at many studios. Loomis books are good but their look or design seems outdated, still have much valuable knowledge but I would not recommend starting out with that. Also look around for artists/ teachers on youtube, or courses. Decent guide to knowing wtf the fundamentals are
Like most people I started with bad anime eye drawings and drawing contours, but I quickly got better watching Proko videos, Drawabox,
I recommend starting with drawing circles, ellipses, boxes, cylinders, and cones. With these simple things, you can draw plenty of things and learn to manipulate them to fit the object you are drawing. (book I recommend is Steve Huston's )
You need to learn anatomy, for drawing characters you need to know how to draw different types of characters and knowing and understanding anatomy is immensely helpful. (book I recommend for this Michael Hampton)
Don't know many decent books on drawing drapery but I highly recommend Watts Atelier Drawing program they have a nicely structured program, with pdfs files of lesson notes, references, etc. The price may be too expensive. However, they break down the books above and how you should use them and adds tons of materials to them.
This may look like you have to do much work, but I recommend dividing up your drawing time to 80/20. 80% on practicing the fundamental concepts, 20% on what you like. This way your fundamental skills are improving while still being able to do what you love.
Note: This breakdown is mostly for people who are very serious, and by that no means you have to follow them. Just improve your fundamental skills, they are boring but very helpful in achieving a nice drawing. Good Luck
