I have had much better success not losing the remotes since adding the remote loops. Others have said try the silicon case route and I tried that as well. I bought one off of Amazon to stop the remote from clanging against our headboard when we hang it there using the remote loop.
Here's the silicon case I bought:
I put the wrist strap on all the Apple TVs in our house. The little "tail" helps finding it when it slips into the cushions.
For the master bedroom one, I also put one of the cheap rubber cases from Amazon on it and it never slips off the bed anymore.

This one works great for me.
I have this one on all 3 of my Apple TV remotes. Best cover out there IMO
I have a protective cover on my remote. It protects the Siri remote from slipping between the couch cushions.
Bunch on amazon. Something like

2 keys to the Siri remote:
1) A case helps give some grip to it. I use this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K6LO5SK/
2) Touching up/down/left/right on the touchpad is more effective than swiping in the direction you want to move. "Tapping" without "clicking" is one of those non-obvious but super useful actions with the remote.
I bought this $7 case, and now I can tell from the feel which side is up:
