i don't think a zipper or velcro enclosure is enough to keep oxygen out of anything.

it was an unaccelerated wood fire, for a claimed 15 minutes.
wood fires top out at about 600c, and i wouldn't consider 15 minutes to be an unreasonable duration. after all, the presumption is that the bag survives a house burning down around it.
the manufacturer claims the following :
