Space Penって以前から2000円ぐらいで売ってるけどな
実は1本持っていますが書き心地はごく普通のボールペン
耐水紙のメモ帳と一緒に持ち歩いている
ただし耐候性が問題になるような場面ではまだ使ったことがない
It's cliche, but a space pen is pretty fitting for your use case.
Gets quite conpact when you close it, feels very premium (all aluminum construction), is essentially the profile of a regular pen, and has all the space pen gimicks to top it off (writes upside down, underwater, etc.).
It unfortunately does have a very much rounded body, however.
Edit: Also >$20 before shipping or if you have prime.

I think some Stapled locations have them, but mine only had the silver which I didn’t like as much as the black. Sweet little pens though! Always comes in handy.
I have other tools that serve these uses. What I really need is a pen that writes in all conditions. Rain, sleet, freezing snow, and even underwater. My job is just that fun. My pen of choice? The Fisher Space pen. It doesn't look like much, but it's an amazing pen when you need to write something in conditions where a traditional pen just won't do.
on this note, a Fisher Space Pen fits the bill.

I'm personally into using pocket-sized notebooks purely for vocabulary, so that I can scribble some down on the go and during slow moments at work. I mostly write down things that I get wrong in ankidroid to solidify it in my mind, or any new words that I come across that I can add to anki later. However, if you have terrible handwriting like I do and you feel that handwriting Japanese is important to you, a pocket notebook isn't going to do you any favours.
My vocab system's pretty simple: date, vocabulary source, kanji/kana/english. (with the bit I didn't know underlined)
Pocket book recs: I'm using these ruled Moleskine 3-packs at the moment, the soft covers get a bit tatty with use but they're a good size for carrying, no nonsense and were pretty cheap on Amazon. Rite in the Rain do some really high quality hardcover pocket books too that are 160 pages, I use the squared paper one for work purposes all the time. They pretty much dominate an entire pocket, though. I used to carry a Fisher Bullet Space Pen as well so that I could write anywhere, but I don't really bother nowadays tbh.
Regarding full sized notebooks that I use for everything else, (grammar, textbooks, production etc) to be honest, I just use whatever lined notebook I can get my hands on and don't put too much thought into organisation. I do think going through the process of writing stuff down is important to memory and learning, but it's rare that I'll ever refer back to handwritten notes unless it's going into an anki deck.
You need a pen...

$50? ... They are cheaper than that. Here's the first result from Amazon for under $20.
Try googling? Amazon will deliver in one or two days
I bought a CHUMS surf short wallet (also at REI and Amazon) recently. It has two main pockets. On one side I keep lesser-used cards and on the other side are my main cards and cash. It also has an ID window and a keychain/extra slot (perfect for hotel keycards or transit cards for easy access) but I removed the keychain. It's got enough room that I can keep some lip balm, Excedrin, change, and a Fisher Space Pen (a small pen that turns into full size with cap), and I don't have to use store/hotel/hostel pens when contactless payment isn't available. It's absolutely perfect for me.
Add this to your edc...you'll thank me 😀😀

Under $20, made of brass, small enough to fit in a back pocket, and has an optional clip.
There's also a raw brass version too, if that's what you prefer.
From the same company, there's also a brass retractable pen (with multiple colors and finishes as well).
I'd say look at Fisher Space Pens, I don't have one (cause I'm not into ballpoints) but these seem really nice:

Fisher Space Pen Men's Cap-O-Matic Space Pen
The Lamy 2000 isn't flashy, but it definitly looks expensive, personally if you like that pen save up and get the fountain pen version, its more worth it than the ballpoint in my opinion...
it is black. i got it here: http://www.amazon.de/dp/B000WGD13U/ref=sr_ph?ie=UTF8&qid=1453348424&sr=1&keywords=fisher+space+pen
They are only $13 on Amazon
Hey /r/EDC, After browsing this subreddit for about a year now, and getting extremely jealous of everyone else's EDC, I decided to make some updates.
That's where I keep my Fischer Space Pen.
