I'm at 14% bodyfat according to this machine, which I check every morning, but I'm not sure how accurate it is:
My target is 10% bodyfat. When I get down to 10%, if I still have the folds... I might look into what you suggested.
I was thinking about this today too! I'm mulling over getting the Fitbit Aria, can't quite justify the price to myself though. Very interested to see what everyone else suggests. :)
Definately reccomend the FitBit Aria. www.amazon.com/Fitbit-Wi-Fi-Smart-Scale-Black/dp/B0077L8YOO I got the black one and it looks slick, plus it checks your body fat % and sends all info to your fitbit account. You get updated charts showing your weight and BMI and body fat % made for you. I also have a FitBit One Activity + Sleep Tracker. www.amazon.com/dp/B0095PZHPE It shows you how long you've slept and when you're restless. Also counts calories burned (don't know how accurate) and steps taken. The floors climber is way off though! It counts every ride in a car as if you're going upstairs, ugh. For a coffee maker I recommend Bodum Brazil 8-Cup French Press Coffee Maker, Makes 34-Ounces if needed, but easy to make 1-2 cups real fast. (They're like $20) I like having to make coffee by hand. I just like little rituals every morning. Keeps me organized and thoughts don't stray.
All I am going to offer you is a path to the truth, take it or leave it.
I suspect that your experiences up until now combined with seeing the response this thread evoked should be all you need to push you to finding the truth on your own.
What relationships between men and women boil down to is this. whoever cares less controls the relationship. women do not and cannot care about you. your head has been filled with Disney romance garbage and no one person is special, please stop thinking this, it is a flawed perception. someone can BECOME special to YOU but no one person is special just because, that’s social justice feelgood bullshit.
The stress, strain, anxiety and internal turmoil you feel when dealing with the opposite sex is basically the side effects of cognitive dissonance. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance
Your internal self (gut feeling/sub-conscious) is trying to communicate to your outer self(conscious mind) that things are not making sense. This is not some BS about me trying to coax you into questioning your sexuality btw, it is just me pointing out that what you are fighting with yourself over is that you likely know that something in your social interactions is wrong. You are having to chase or over invest and reach in your social interactions and YES this IS wrong. The best advice I can offer you is this, for the time being, give up on women and focus on you. If you are not in shape then: Sign up here: https://www.loseit.com
Get one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Fitbit-Wi-Fi-Smart-Scale-Black/dp/B0077L8YOO/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1507438105&sr=8-1&keywords=fitbit+aria
And get a fitness tracker like this: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Gear-Smartwatch-Large-Black/dp/B01FDPVXZC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1507438125&sr=8-1&keywords=gearfit2
All 3 of these things tie into each other. Once you figure out what you are eating, figure out how to reduce your calorie intake on a weekly basis, start walking every day, loose a few lbs and then start a gym regiment and pick up a martial art. Start reading and focus on expanding your mind especially where it can help boost your career and income. After these steps, you should start to become comfortable with being alone and won’t NEED a woman in your life – this actually repels them. When you do not NEED them in your life, are good looking/fit and have a good income with savings, the women will come to you.
Women… only look at men in terms of what they can gain/take, the primary things they tend to focus on are Wealth, Independence, Property, Dignity… and usually in that order. You can either Understand a Woman, or Love a Woman and they may not stay around IF/WHEN they do show up. However, you will always be stuck with your body, your mind and the fruits of the work you invest in your future when you are younger, so make sure to take care of those things.
If any of what I have said rings of any truth to you, then I recommend you check out this:

...and get off reddit, it is not a place for thinking people, it is an echo chamber where people go to get feel good internet points and have their beliefs reinforced while punishing anyone who dissents from the group think. Good luck, you can do this.
yeah just looked at reviews... i know this just released and it sucks the reviews are so bad. anker makes awesome products, will be surprised if they dont fix it really quickly.
the other scale is (wifi): Fitbit Aria Wi-Fi Smart Scale, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0077L8YOO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_lmANyb3YYK25X
but pricey at $130
i completely understand the want to build your own, and definitely not knocking the idea. and if it works, there are wats to get your data into a fitness tracking site using something like this https://tapiriik.com/
There's simply no way to know without actually taking a measurement and if this number is important for you to track, you'll want to take it frequently. There are options that run the gambit in price here, so there's no excuse not to have one around. Personally, I use the Fitbit Aira scale since it connects over WiFi and records my numbers for me. It is, however, rather expensive next to other, less "smart" options. If you don't mind manually tracking your trends and data, the EatSmart Body Scale is about half the price. For a little less, there's the Omron Body Logic that will work in roughly the same way, just without the perk of doing weight and BFP at the same time. If electronics are not your thing and/or you're on a real budget, a body fat caliper can be had for the price of a fancy cup of coffee if you don't mind putting in the extra work needed to get the measurements.
This measurement is, in many ways, far more important than your overall body weight, so you don't want to just guess here. Knowing this, you can better figure out your lean body mass, pick a realistic goal weight, set your caloric intake correctly, and generally figure out if you're actually making any progress (vs losing muscle).
tl;dr - Don't guess. Buy one of the many devices that exist in every price range that can give you an accurate reading.
