My wife and I just bought these (I bought the slightly taller stool model) and they're remarkably quiet. Our old chairs were very squeaky -- these are downright stealthy.

Plus they're available in fun colors.
Good on ya for not telling people where you live. Also I just thought, invest in a good chair if ya haven’t already, I bought this, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KUPS3JU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_K0QTZ3HE33R0YPG2M1FM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 last year and it was the best choice I’ve ever made. Maybe don’t get one with a mesh seat cus stuff gets in there and it’s a pain in the ass to clean. May RNJesus be in your favor stranger.
We've got those $1500 chairs all over my office. Color me unimpressed. (Frankly, I was a surprised when I found out they were so expensive.)
I got an inexpensive Spamazon chair for my home office. My son like it so much, I got one for him as well.
Used this one for 2 years the mesh finally started to rip on the back slowly. But super comfy and arms swivel up no problem.

I'm 5'6" so more average but I have to jack this chair almost as high as it goes so my legs aren't folded up under it. Seat is pretty wide so there's space, arms are cushioned and flip up, the seat is firm but comfy and the back has a little give but keeps you upright. I really love it and it was pretty easy to assemble.
I bought this on Amazon a couple years ago (I've worked from home for ~7 years and before then just had a dining room chair at my desk) and I love it.
Pretty much a basic mesh office chair. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KUPS3JU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use it because it's comfortable and not expensive, plus it's holding up well so far though I've only had it a year and a half.
I ordered this one from Amazon for my VR chair, primarily for the flip up arms (so it could be used in "cockpit" games, as well as "flail your arms around" games). I'm really pretty happy with it for this purpose.
I chose to leave the wheels off when assembling it, so that it will "stay put" in the prime VR camera zone, but still allow rotation.

I'm a big fan of this chair. The arms fold up so I can play guitar sitting in it and it rolls under the desk top nicely. It's very comfortable and stays cool. My old chair used to make me sweat cause the back and base were leather material. The one I linked is just fine, at least for me.
I literally just got this chair today and it is right in your budget. Used it for a few hours this evening to game on. So far, very comfortable, sturdy and doesn't make my back ache after like 30 mins like my old chair. The arms swing up as well, since your a musician, so they can be moved out of the way.

Do no get this. I just returned one of those last week because its such a piece of shit.
If you sit for long periods of time you may want to invest a bit more than $150. I went the aesthetic route (which is still comfortable) and bought a DX Racer chair. I know those aren't for everyone though. You could look at some reviews of chairs on Amazon like this one and see if there are any nearby you or order from Amazon/wherever if you are comfortable with that.
I am in the same situation, I plan on buying this chair. The arms swivel up out of the way, and the price has dropped a bit since I have been looking. Flash Furniture BL-X-5M-BK-GG Mid-Back Mesh Chair with Nylon Base, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KUPS3JU/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_WQbavb07992R9

... but it looks like they have a white ass cushion
I recently got this chair from Amazon and it’s worked great for playing at my desk! The arms swivel up for playing, and you can put them back down for normal use.
I use an office chair https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KUPS3JU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_4BK7KEZ4135ARZEKGB6F similar to this, gaming chairs are shit. https://youtu.be/9Yhc6mmdJC4
Appears to be this chair here.
Looks like it, but I'm in US. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KUPS3JU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
Switched to UK shipping and there's a $130 delivery charge. :(
Looks good but it is £450, double what I wanted to spend.
$77 chair office mesh chair, purchased in 2016, great chair. No need to spend hundreds.

It's gone up in price and better stuff might be out now, but I still standby not spending over $150 on a office chair.
I got one off Amazon with arms that fold up. Flash Furniture Mid-Back Black Mesh Swivel Ergonomic Task Office Chair with Flip-Up Arms https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KUPS3JU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oWtvFb4K3M0DT
Good for jamming ... good for gaming
I just recently bought this chair from Amazon. The arms can be raised up, it's been fantastic.
I'm very much enjoying my mesh chair, I got something like this https://www.amazon.com/Flash-Furniture-Mid-Back-Swivel-Flip-Up/dp/B00KUPS3JU/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1521760092&sr=8-7&keywords=office+chair
I would look at Amazon, my boss has just ordered some of these: https://www.amazon.com/Mid-Back-Black-Swivel-Padded-Flip-Up/dp/B00KUPS3JU
This one is definitely out of your price range, but I have seen it go for $150 on sale. It's stupidly comfortable, breathable (no back sweat), and supportive without being too hardcore. It's a great chair for us big and tall folks, because the mesh back goes up all the way to provide support to your spine and your head. The only reasons I replaced it with my DXRacer are that it (a) doesn't have adjustable arms and (b) needs just a little more lumbar support. But if you aren't three inches from your monitor like I am (bad eyes) that latter probably won't be a problem, and the arms only needed to be wider, not higher, to suit my shoulders. I used it for over three years, and it still worked as well as the first day without any maintenance, other than the occasional WD-40. Now that it belongs to my dad, he won't trade it for anything.
I've also heard good things about this chair from a friend, but I haven't tried it myself. It seems to suit his scrawny self perfectly, though.
And while I understand that budgets are a reality we all have to deal with, I'd recommend splurging a little on a quality desk chair. Your back and shoulders will thank you in the long run, particularly as you get older. I'm only 26, and I've already noticed a definite change in how much bad posture my body is willing to put up with.

That's the one I got, it's around $80. I like it more then any of the more expensive leather chairs I had previously.
