The Flip Pal Mobile Scanner is something I found a little over a year ago - great tool for scanning photos (300 or 600 dpi) or documents, has stitchsoftware for larger photos/docs, and easily transfers pics from the memory card to your computer for further editing, as desired. The quality of the photos has been quite good. And, it's been a real plus when traveling to do genealogy work - very portable.
