Hello! Thank you for the thorough post! I'm thinking that heading towards a 5-10gal tank will be a good start. Eyeing this one and this one. Is there one that you recommend? I am on a budget but wiling to invest a little if it'll help my little guy out, if its not too late :(
I was actually suspicious of the water from the former tank as well and just tested it, I have an API Freshwater Master Test Kit, but nothing seemed too abnormal. So now I really dont know what the culprit is. I dont know whether or not I should be suspicious of the snail invaders. I did witness one pooping out a weird little parasite worm. I have a video of that somewhere.
PH was about 8.2 (is this too high)?
Ammonia (NH3/NH4+) was 0
Nitrite (NO2-) was 0
Nitrate (NO3-) was 20ppm
Is this what you are referring to as stressguard?
What should I do with him in the mean time? I just dumped his previous tank and he is hanging out in a 2 gallon jar with heater and marimo ball. Should I just set up his tank in the same way with rock substrate, marimo ball and heater? I was going to try for a new plant or buy a silk one. How bad is it to do 100% water changes? What is the best method for changing water. I do have a siphon. I also have Fluval Concentrated Biological Booster that I throw in his tank sometimes when I change water. Is it possible that he is just really stressed? He is located near a door that can be drafty sometimes. Maybe I should relocate him.
He is still eating and swimming around. So I am refusing to give up hope.
Thank you for your ideas.
