This is the one that seems most popular: iClever BK08.
Has anyone tried this one? It's a foldable one but it's getting good reviews on the Reddits that I play on. I don't have one yet, tho.
I've been using the iclever bluetooth keyboard with touchpad and I've been pretty happy with it. Absolutely not ideal if you intend to play first person shooters with a mouse/keyboard control scheme, but otherwise it hits the mark for convenience and fair price. The small size makes it easy to use in just about any situation, but it's not so small that I find it difficult to type on. I more often have the Steam Deck docked to my TV, so I can keep the keyboard next to my couch, or easily pack it away if I do decide to travel with it.
We have several users that have this little portable keyboard with touchpad.
> I've seen the iclever bk08 but I want to see if there are other alternatives, especially with usb-c charging and cheaper as the bk08 is $56 on amazon and is micro-usb charging.
This one, correct? I have it and it definitely has a USB-C port.
The only foldable keyboards I can find are bluetooth like this one ( https://www.amazon.com.au/iClever-Bluetooth-Sensitive-Pocket-Sized-Tri-Folded/dp/B07ZRNJ4DX/ref=mp_s_a_1_3 ) but honestly this looks like an amazing idea, and now I want to give it a shot haha.
This KB is the GOAT. I've used it for a few years (Easy for server stuff). Great Battery life, easy to switch between devices (I use this on PS5 to chat, as well.) Great response, sturdy construction, and being foldable, I can tuck it in the elastic of the carrier case.

I have recently been testing this for when I travel. Leaving my MacBook Pro at home, and traveling with an Android phone and iPad Mini. I haven’t been able to test it for real yet, only test runs at home (pretend I don’t have the laptop for a couple of days), and I haven’t had any issues yet.
This keyboard and a (fake) Apple Pencil help out a lot.
I found this folding keyboard a while back with a touchpad! Might be a cheaper alternative to the Magic Keyboard.
Sorry had to reupload!

Not OP, but I bought the iClever with a trackpad.
It's okay to type on, the trackpad is okay and works in a pinch. Not sure if I would've preferred a keyboard without a trackpad and a larger typing surface with maybe a Microsoft Arc Mouse, but again, better than nothing and less to carry.
Only real issue I have is that the "enter" key seems to trigger twice. Also, some of the punctuation key placements on the right hand side take some serious getting used to. There are some other keyboards with better layouts.
Meh, is all good. Had a rough night and, unfairly, took it out on you with that reply. :(
Honestly, I LOVE mine. I have had it for a while and replaced my Note 20 Ultra with it. This one device has replaced my Phone, iPad (tablet), Kindle Reader and, I don't need to take my laptop everywhere with me anymore, I can do 99.9999999% of my work right on my phone and with a portable (I have a folding one: https://smile.amazon.com/Bluetooth-iClever-Sensitive-Pocket-Sized-Tri-Folded/dp/B07ZRNJ4DX/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=iclever+bt+keyboard&qid=1639600756&sr=8-4) I can't live without this form factor anymore.
I use this portable keyboard with dual screen in wide mode for a mini laptop feel. The mouse pad works perfect. Edit link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZRNJ4DX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_wIIkFb5GDH61F
I use this for portable use, works very well. You can always use the Logitech K400 if you want something a little bigger. Keep in mind you need a USB type A port. But useful if you connect the deck to a TV and want to control it remotely.
That setup looks like it works well! For anyone looking for a compact bluetooth keyboard/mouse solution, this is the one I use and I like it. It can connect to three devices too:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZRNJ4DX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I will warn that the function keys (i.e. F1,F2 etc) do not work. You only get either the numeric key (1,2, etc.) or the special function (search, sound control, etc.). I contacted their support and they said it must be an issue with the keyboard's Linux drivers. Other than minor emulator changes it hasn't been an issue.
Here's my detailed post about this model and the bigger backlit one with some months of use of each to help inform those curious about it:
iClever BK08 Bluetooth Keyboard - it's a pretty great input device given its size and is much more sturdy than other foldable/tiny keyboards I've used before, would highly recommend as a portable input device if you want a portable works-on-everything keyboard+touchpad mouse.
The iClever BK05 keyboard - I also have this keyboard-only version that has full keys and R/G/B backlighting but without a touchpad - which I built into my wearable PC project as a dedicated keyboard and modular wire-in input hub.
While both work fine they don't quite replace an actual keyboard for more serious gaming, and sometimes I've found a key can get 'stuck' at random due to how the bluetooth signal works. So it's fine for web browsing or chat, but for gaming it might be a bit rough. The BK08 is also a bit smaller form factor than the BK05 model (smaller keys, less keys, an entire row subtracted as it is thinner, has touchpad taking up a chunk of the same space) and you have to rely on various Fn combo keys to use less common key inputs - for some power users this will be frustrating, especially if you plan on doing any coding with it - but you do get a touchpad in the same device, while you do have one with the Deck + touchscreen already. Your needs may vary.
Both models come with an appropriately sized cloth case and a miniature kickstand (ideally meant for the keyboard itself or a phone, NOT a Deck unless you're using it in bed).
Both models I mentioned are also charged via micro-USB, not USB-C. The bigger BK-05 also has a Wired USB device mode, so it can act as a Wired Keyboard for any device that doesn't support Bluetooth, whereas I don't think the BK-08 has this wired device mode.
Final note: The smaller BK08 model can technically fit under the Deck case strap, but only if there's nothing really pushing outward (like the original charger), otherwise it can slip out really easy. So if you're wondering if it can slip inside the stretching pad, yes... but not firmly, especially once you've strained the stretchy fabric over the lifetime of the case. You'd want to tuck it in your pocket (it's small enough) or in another bag alongside your Deck.
Is it worth it? Maybe. If you want something that folds up nicely and can be tucked away in a smaller bag, this is a decent alternative than the cheaper tiny keyboards you might find, but while its quality is better than expected for its discrete size, it still does not quite compare to a full keyboard with full size keys.
Is the price worth it? Well, that just really depends on your needs and how much you plan on using it. The price might be scoffed at when compared to normal keyboards, but I don't think you're going to find a foldable keyboard of this quality any cheaper without having worse key responsiveness or weaker hinges.
Nope, Micro-USB.

better late than never:

damn thats nice
is this what you used for the keyboard ?
https://www.amazon.com.au/iClever-Bluetooth-Sensitive-Pocket-Sized-Tri-Folded/dp/B07ZRNJ4DX/ref=mp\_s\_a\_1\_3
Keyboard: https://www.amazon.ca/iClever-Bluetooth-Sensitive-Pocket-Sized-Tri-Folded/dp/B07ZRNJ4DX/
Mouse: https://www.amazon.ca/Bluetooth-Wireless-Rechargeable-Adjustable-MacBook/dp/B082KS47P8
Although don't use both via Bluetooth simultaneously. The keyboard doesn't play well combined with the mouse. But the mouse can be used wirelessly with an included dongle, so that's how I run them at home. If I take the Deck with me somewhere, the keyboard/trackpad alone is good enough if I have to go into desktop mode.
This right here is amazing
Foldable Keyboard, iClever BK08... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZRNJ4DX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I bought the iClever BK08 Bluetooth Keyboard as a gift for someone who is constantly travelling, and it works with both their iPhone and Windows laptop. I don't think it supports some of the advanced trackpad functionality on Macs, but I could be wrong. Also, it uses Micro USB to charge instead of USB C, if you care about that. However, it does have a long battery life, meaning that you don't necessarily need to take a micro USB cable wherever you go.
There are similar products out there, including Samsers Multidevice keyboard at a lower cost. I can't say if they're any good.

Note this thing is pretty small and cramped, I can't really hit full speed typing with this but it's good enough for my uses which is mostly just running a DAW
I have this one, and I like it, although the key layout isn't perfect: https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-iClever-Sensitive-Pocket-Sized-Tri-Folded/dp/B07ZRNJ4DX
iClever also makes one without the touchpad, and that one may have a better key layout, although I haven't tried it.
I did a lot of research on small folding keyboards that have a touchpad, and the iClever BK08 style seemed the best from what I saw, although I wish Lenovo would make a similar folding keyboard with their Trackpoint.
I'm using this for the Deck / Phone:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZRNJ4DX?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Or you could just fix the link
I've been trying to solve this.
The closest I got to a pocket solution is this
iClever folding keyboard with trackpad
You have to make some concessions. No Back light, punctuation marks need fn commands, a bit small. But it makes desktop navigation 10 times easier.
Given that I don't use my keyboard for work, I can't speak about it in a work performance mode. But I can vouch for it for even gaming... though I prefer the deck itself to game.
Honestly, when I am using Dex or even in (what I call) "Laptop Mode" where I have it open on a stand and am using my keyboard (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07ZRNJ4DX/), I will plug in my USB-C HUB (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GSSTPR7/) so I can have Ethernet, Charge, have USB ports and SD/MicroSD Card Reader as well. For what I paid for this (IIRC $45), it was well worth it.
I am ordering this on pay-day: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08PFC2ZW9 - I know this does not have an Ethernet Port, but this is mainly for when I am out and about am on-call. This way, I no longer need to carry a laptop with me as I can do 100% of my work from the ZF3.
So yeah, iClever upgraded > Amazon
This is what I use: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07ZRNJ4DX (includes both keyboard and stand)
It comes with a little bag that holds both the keyboard and stand and it can connect to three different BlueTooth devices. The trackpad works fine but I keep a Logitech 535 in the bag if I'm going to be doing a fair amount of mousing.
I've got this one for my phone and am pretty happy with it.

Not a student here, but an IT pro and this phone has pretty much replaced my laptop. I use a KB/Trackpad (https://smile.amazon.com/Bluetooth-iClever-Sensitive-Pocket-Sized-Tri-Folded/dp/B07ZRNJ4DX) with this little stand and I no longer need to carry my laptop everywhere with me. If I need to do something work related, I just plop down, set up my phone and stand, bust out the KB and off I go.
Everything from Zoom calls, Slack conversations, Linux Server SSH connections are all a breeze with this phone. Multi-Windows and Multi-Tasking is everything this phone was designed for and works like a charm!
So, I can see how this would be a beast for students! This is essentially a Pocket Laptop!
I know how you feel. I have had nothing but Flagship phone for so long now, I cannot remember not having one.
This phone REALLY turns heads. I have had this since just after launch (damn shipping delays) and it's ALWAYS getting attention.
Now, I work in IT and am always on-call, so I need to be able to work, and work fast. I used to carry my Laptop and all my work gear with me everywhere because of this.
Now, I just carry my phone and this portable BT KB/Trackpad: https://smile.amazon.com/Bluetooth-iClever-Sensitive-Pocket-Sized-Tri-Folded/dp/B07ZRNJ4DX
SO MUCH LESS TO CARRY!! I can fit everything in my pockets with this setup and 100% of my work can be done from this phone. Even when I need to run a command Shell so I can SSH into my Linux Servers.
Would something like this foldable BT keyboard with a touchpad work for you? https://smile.amazon.com/Bluetooth-iClever-Sensitive-Pocket-Sized-Tri-Folded/dp/B07ZRNJ4DX/
But I'm thinking of getting this one
Sure, obligatory "I'm not affiliated with this company/seller/etc in any way shape or form"
