I can't recommend a machine as I only have an MPCNC, but you will definitely want some bits for your router. Perhaps start with a 2-flute upcut flat end mill. Since you're looking at a larger footprint machine, I'm guessing you'll be milling signs and stuff. If that's the case, you'll also want a collection of V-Carving bits. Unfortunately, you can't buy these before you know what CNC machine you're getting because you don't know the size of the collet on the spindle. In any case, you can easily find cheap bits on Amazon.
Since you're just getting into milling, you'll probably want to get some sheets of High-Density foam to try your first cuts in. It'll save you from busting bits and destroying your workpiece. You can get that at any big box home improvement store and it's fairly cheap. Finally, get some decent eye and ear protection!
