This is what you want. Spray a little bit in the door (like 1/2 second) where she scratches and the cat won’t touch it. You might need to reapply 1x per day or every other day depending on your cat. It doesn’t hurt the cat, they just don’t like the smell. I’ve used it for years and it won’t hurt or stain anything in your house. You can also spray it on a paper towel and wipe it on if you need. It smells bitter if you spray too much. One can should last several months or longer.

Also, for destructive behavior I use keep off spray. That way they aren’t being punished by me, so it doesn’t really hurt their feelings or make them fear me. They just don’t like the smell. It works best if you put it on a thing when it’s new and then let them smell it on their own but it works on existing furniture and anything else as well. It generally lasts a day or two at most, depending on your cats but I don’t mind reapplying it. I use it on kitchen sinks, furniture corners, granite counter tops, my girlfriends shoes and purses, and it does not leave a residue, stain, or damage the surface in any way, even after using it in the same spots for several years.

If you keep the vinyl slightly elevated and there isn’t room for him to sit on the shelf you should be fine. My cars are pretty rambunctious and they don’t bother mine.

I have an amp and other surfaces I want them off and this spray works pretty well. Some things I have to reapply it every few days (doesn’t take much, like 1/2 a second spray) and other things I’ve sprayed 1 time and they never bother that item again. So might be worth a shot.
