I totally resonated with this! I rebounded many times, and entering maintenance was terrifying. There’s a reason people say that maintenance is harder than losing weight.
CICO helped me learn how many calories are in food and what a reasonable portion size looks like, but I didn’t find it to be a good long-term lifestyle for me. So I taught myself how to eat and maintain my weight without it. Also, uh, I love eating. And food. Here are my tips:
I really liked the book French Women Don’t Get Fat, which talks about how to stop feeling guilty about eating delicious food and how to maintain a good balance and keep a good weight. This book, combined with what I learned about food doing CICO, shaped how I eat now.
