This is the right advice. An AC unit will dehumidify the air enough that you don’t need the humidifier. Just get a good AC unit and call it a day.

They stopped making the one u/rpm4242 has. I bought that one two years ago and it worked well for one season. Last year it was dead on start up. The warranty was a hassle, but they did replace the unit with the latest and greatest. It worked great for the remainder of the season. I do hope it fires up come spring. BTW they have changed to a more realistic test so that what was a 70 pint is now a 50 pint.
