the dudes hair is spikier a than clouds. but you tell me about historical construction of race in anime. lol.
the blond on black trend started in japan.
you sound so fucking white. imagining yourself in all the things. literally this is a fight i have with white weebs all the time. they cant stand theyre not the protags of everything.
i guess i can view a world that is not axiomatic to whiteness and produced in asia.
I made new wishlists when I joined RAOA (I kept the originals private because they are just unorganized dumping grounds), so I won't win the oldest item lol. The oldest item on my main wishlist is "AmazonBasics Universal Travel Case for Small Electronics and Accessories -Black" from April 23rd. There are a bunch of other items from April 23rd as well, but that is what is at the bottom when I sort by date added. For imaginary bonus points... the oldest item on my original wishlist is the book Fruits which was added on May 21st 2005. So, I would have been a freshman in High School I think...
Yes! This is something I know a little bit about! Here is an inspiration album for women's fashion in Japan, and the thread: http://imgur.com/a/nCwN8
Drop tokyo is a great site for alot of popular street fashion: http://droptokyo.com/
And wear.jp is basically their version of our lookbook.nu: http://wear.jp/
Style arena is good too: http://www.style-arena.jp/en/tokyo-streetstyle
Alot of Japanese fashion can be adrogynous, so there's alot to be learned from men's fashion too: https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/1jposj/japanese_street_fashion_inspiration_album/
Fruits is a good book of street fashion in Japan that you can buy: https://www.amazon.com/Fruits-Shoichi-Aoki/dp/0714840831
I hope that helps. I'd also take a look at Japanese fashion magazines
Stay away from Kera, it's Harajuku alternative fashion. Gyaru, gothic lolita, cosplay, etc. Not helpful and you'll stick out like a sore thumb.
Seventeen is based on the American seventeen and it focuses on current trends for teenagers, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't read it.
Vivi is designed for you age group. 20 something modern gal. It's famous for featuring alot of biracial models (and usually that means white and European)
Sweet is the top selling magazine for your age demo, and is the most mainstream fashion choice. It's recommends premium brands but that doesn't matter because you're after style, not a shopping list.
Can Cam is marketed towards office workers and university students. It's style theme is professional fashion.
Very is for 30 year olds and is conservative. It's also features articles on interior decoration and food culture.
Fudge is weird. It's almost like a lifestyle magazine for 20-30 year olds, with movie, art and music recs. It's high fashion and global fashion, not very japanese. It features lots of foreign models, and has a menswear copycat look.
Don't worry about not being able to read Japanese, just order a few issues off of Japanese Amazon anyway and look at the pictures, it's a fashion mag, the writing isn't important anyway.
One of my favorite books on the topic of japanese fashion is this one: Ametora: How Japan Saved American Style
It's mens though, so I didn't link it, I just thought I'd drop the name if you were curious
A lot of the styles in this game was inspired by the street fashion of early 90s Japan. https://www.amazon.com/Fruits-Shoichi-Aoki/dp/0714840831/ref=nodl_
The book Fruits. Is a nice visual collection of a lot of the popular street styles.
That's what brand catalogs and fashion magazines are for. Unless you are you ok with books that focus on specific subculture photography like Fruits.
Fruits are interesting.
