Looks like a Wacom EMR "UP"/"Penabled"/"Feel IT" pen. It works with any other Feel pen but you might get a very large cursor offset. Since they are so old they are very hard to find now. The one I found most broadly compatible is the Bamboo Feel (CS300K, CS300W, CS400K) but it's going for over $200 on eBay... The Fujitsu T5000 pen is another Feel pen, but it will very likely have a cursor offset.
I'd recommend sticking with the original pen because that's about as good as it'll get.
Its a Wacom EMR (it goes by the name "feel-it" under the driver name) digitizer. So, look for pens that work w/ that. The Fujitsu Lifebook pen works very well, as does the wacom bamboo feel pen (though i don't recommend it due to the button being flush w/ the pen and the pen being prohibitively back heavy w/ the cap on.).
Personally i'd recommend the Lifebook pen. https://www.amazon.com/Fujitsu-Digitizer-replacement-Stylus-T5000/dp/B00791UTH2
Also, download Wacom's feel-it drivers since they come with settings to customize button output.
I use Fujitsu digitizers on my tablet PC for work that do the exact same thing as apple pencil, and theyre $40 dollars
Oh, and they have two buttons to apple's zero, AND they can erase!
Thanks for your response! I decided to go with the Fujitsu pen as Amazon offered a faster delivery date and I saw a lot of people praising it. The only thing I noticed was that some of the pens I was looking at to purchase didn't say 'Lifebook' on the pen, like the one linked below, so that worried be at first that it might not be the same pen, but I saw it linked by other Surface Pro 2 users as well. Thanks for the suggestion!
Pro 1 user. I ditched my Wacom tablet not long after getting my Pro. The Pro1/2 has a Wacom digitiser so the good driver support and features are there.
varied pen options (I use the http://www.amazon.com/Fujitsu-Digitizer-replacement-Stylus-T5000/dp/B00791UTH2/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1441992061&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=fijitusu+lifebook+pen), eraser support, customizable buttons, customizable menus, are all things that the Wacom-enabled Pro1/2 have over the 3.
Maybe some high-level Wacom styli, but for the most part, Wacom uses digitizers that require zero charge. This is what I use with my Surface Pro 1 and it works great and requires no charge.
about the fujitsu, i ran into one of their pen. amazon has it listed as

do you think this would work? or should i look for the T900 specifically
i just came by this one
two buttons, an eraser, no batteries, and much more affordable. is this compatible?
Surface Pro 1 (which I am learning is a true antique nowadays lol)
Looking for a paperlike/matte screen protector and can't seem to find one. I also recently bought a replacement stylus (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00791UTH2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but can't seem to get the buttons and eraser to work, so if anyone has advice on that it would be greatly appreciated.
You need a Wacom EMR pen/Samsung S Pen So you can either purchase one from one of the OEM's like
or try one of the S-pen's...Wacom used to sell Wacom Bamboo Feel pens/Wacom Stylus Feel Carbon (CS-300/400) but they have discontinued them and they are hard to find and ridiculously expensive when you do, some selling for as much as $250 which is just ridiculous.
I've bought from this site and they have a Toshiba Trupen (EMR pen) i've used w/ the Surface Pro 1 for $8.
I used this for the original surface pro, and this was awesome. Two button and pressure sensitive eraser. It's also works with my intuos pro pen nibs. link
penabled should work.
Here's the pen that I ordered for my SP2. I chose this one because it has an eraser.
Sounds like you would like the Fujitsu T5000
No not any Wacom stylus will work, it has to be a Wacom Feel stylus.

To add to that the Samsung S pens work. Also Fujitsu T5000: http://www.amazon.com/Fujitsu-Digitizer-replacement-Stylus-T5000/dp/B00791UTH2/ref=cm_cd_ql_qh_dp_t
And Wacom Grip Pen UP-911E-02DD: http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Grip-Pen-UP-911E-02DD/dp/B00014HR3I/ref=cm_rdp_product
I haven't used it but these are supposed to be nice: http://www.amazon.com/Fujitsu-Digitizer-replacement-Stylus-T5000/dp/B00791UTH2/ref=cm_cd_ql_qh_dp_t
I used this when I had my SP2 with Wacom's Felt Nibs
Is this the pen you have? [Fujitsu Digitizer Pen]?(http://www.amazon.com/Fujitsu-Digitizer-replacement-Stylus-T5000/dp/B00791UTH2)
I have the Fujitsu T5000 and I set the second button to open the radial menu with the FEEL Wacom driver. I have one of the radial buttons set to run the AHK script in the YouTube video to toggle autohide and another radial button set to toggle the placement of the taskbar top or bottom using the following program. The taskbar gets in the way when taking notes during lecture and this makes it really easy to temporarily get it out of the way. The other radial buttons are set to Start and Windows-C Cortana shortcut besides Play/Pause and Mute.

Pro 1 owner here. So similar, I think I can contribute.
I use a power cover on my pro1. From what I've heard. SP1+Power cover is about equal to SP2 without power cover. I can average about 5-7 hours in powersave mode (about 4-6 in highperformance)
For the pen, the pro 1 and 2 use the same Wacom digitiser. I'm a digital artist and I use http://www.amazon.com/Fujitsu-Digitizer-replacement-Stylus-T5000/dp/B00791UTH2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1441989395&sr=8-1&keywords=fujitsu+lifebook+stylus for my pen. It has interchangable tips that use the standard Wacom nibs instead of the smaller feel ones. It also has an eraser and two buttons (stock MS one has a non-interchangeable tip, eraser and one button)
I'd also suggest picking up http://www.amazon.com/Waiter-Wallet-Pen-Loop/dp/B00N9HUWBS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1441989537&sr=8-2&keywords=pen+loop regardless of what pen you get. The MS magnetic thing doesn't really work with the stock pen, and if you get a 3rd party pen, you won't have anywhere else to put it.
Also, be sure to download the Wacom driver if you'll be doing any type of digital art. While Photoshop and others support not using it, you can calibrate and get radial shortcuts and pen button customization by using it.
Best stylus I've used to date - can not recommend it enough!

Try eBay if you want the original Microsoft one, or you can buy the Fujitsu Digitizer Pen or the Wacom Feel pen on Amazon.
Fujitsu Digitizer Pen on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Fujitsu-Digitizer-replacement-Stylus-T5000/dp/B00791UTH2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1424495854&sr=8-5
Wacom Bamboo Feel Stylus: http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-CS300UK-Samsung-Pen-Enabled-Tablets/dp/B00ATK90XE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426212435&sr=8-1&keywords=wacom+feel
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/yoga-series/yoga/ full touch and wacom on 1920x1080 screen is an option on this model.
I would strongly advise purchasing a 3rd party compatible wacom stylus for more buttons though. the included one is too small.
try: http://www.amazon.com/Fujitsu-Digitizer-replacement-Stylus-T5000/dp/B00791UTH2
This is also an option. People swear by it.
