Rizzoli as a label is pretty huge but a great place to start, they've done a ton of fashion important books. I haven't organized my thoughts about books recently but off the top of my head I have to recommend these two:
Future Beauty - this was an excellent read. Lots of info about important Japanese brands, big and small (CDG, Miyake, Undercover, some obscure brands, and more).
Take Ivy - not really a book about fashion as much a collection of ivy league photos from decades ago. Still relevant.
Terry Jones also produced a bunch of relevant books. I read this book, a book about Comme Des Garcons, some Vogue style book that covered style throughout the ages, and a couple others. Can't remember the names of the other ones.
