I have the B450M Pro 4 and I'm running G. Skill Ripjaws V Series 2x8GB 3200Mhz with no problems. All I did was enable the XMP profile in the BIOS and it's been all good
Thanks!
The only game I play is Minecraft, which hardly takes up any GPU, so the highest GPU I would upgrade to is probably a 3070. Either way, I could definitely use this Meshify case, or the 4000D. It's just I thought the H510i looked cooler with its RGB (lol). Do you know any RGB cases with good airflow? I really want a pretty build.
Are there any other M.2s you recommend? I've heard Western Digital isn't the greatest.
I picked a 750w mainly because it was from a reliable brand. But yes, I do want to upgrade to a 3070, maybe in an year or two.
I don't really know how computers work very well. I just program stuff in Java. I'm just going to guess that you mean Vengeance RAM is incompatible with ASUS boards? Do you suggest this?
One more thing, what do you think of the price of this whole rig, and would you recommend and i5 or an i7?
Something to keep in mind is that typically benchmark videos are using other higher-end components. I noticed you have Ryzen 5 4500, not a bad CPU but they could be running a much newer and faster CPU in that video.
Also you have a single 8GB 3000mhz stick of RAM. You should aim for 16Gb 3200Mhz (2x8GB) if possible. Something like this would be a great upgrade.
In bios i see G-Skill 8193 MB 2133MHz and XMP DDR4-3200 16-18-18-38-1.35v. I googled some of that and found this which looks to be the same but I can’t figure out what’s relevant to answer your question. G.Skill RipJaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin SDRAM PC4-25600 DDR4 3200 CL16-18-18-38 1.35V Dual Channel Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GVKB https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015FXXBW0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_56SQHF1BX8H5EP77XPQ8
You'll need full size DDR4.
Probably 2x8 = 16 GB DDR4. (244 pin, not 260 / SODIMM). 32 GB is overkill and 8 GB isn't quite enough.
Do some research on whether this board supports XMP. XMP is a technology that allows your memory to run faster (as it's been designed to - the XMP information is put on the stick by the manufacturer).
If this motherboard does support XMP, consider 3200 MHz CL16 RAM.
If it doesn't support XMP, you can probably get 2667 MHz RAM because any extra speed will be wasted. But getting faster RAM that is cheaper will still work.
I've had good luck with these.
And if anything I'd recommend picking up a 16gb of ram kit it add a bit more performance I recommend this kitG.Skill RipJaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin SDRAM PC4-25600 DDR4 3200 CL16-18-18-38 1.35V Dual Channel Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GVKB https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015FXXBW0/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_05682J6VHDMCBBXKJM2Y
Get the same ram and even then it's not 100% guarantee it'll work flawless but you have the best chance if they're all the same . Anything COULD work but you might sacrifice speed to make it work or just have to change a bunch of settings to maybe not have it work anyway.. get the same type. Pcpartpicker has the easiest to use interface if u wanna find more. But that's good price imo
https://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ripjaws-PC4-25600-3200MHz-F4-3200C16D-16GVKB/dp/B015FXXBW0
That's obviously a wired solution right? Sounds much better, I hear wired connections are faster and more stable.
Another thing. The motherboard lists the highest RAM speed as 3200mhz as I suspected. Again, i recommend these: https://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ripjaws-PC4-25600-3200MHz-F4-3200C16D-16GVKB/dp/B015FXXBW0
Well, if Pro is free may as well.
I don't exactly have documentation on hand. It's a common point of advice and I tend to keep it in mind. If lower graded PSUs work for you then, naturally, that's what you go with.
Yeah, I'm sure the mobo handles 3200mhz. The RAM you listed is 3600mhz and I just noticed that some components tend to list official support as something lower than that if they're older so double check the component in question to be sure.
I use these, except my rig has 2x16GB for a total of 32GB.
I am trying to upgrade my RAM, I started out with only 16GB of g.skill ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-25600 3200MHz Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GVKB , should I just add 16GB more of the same exact RAM sticks? or can i get a different brand/speed? plz help thank you
I would first get some new 3200mhz ram maybe this. and if you have enough money buy a 3000 series or you can paypal me. jk :)
Your ram isn't a very good choice. It's only 2666 MHz while your ryzen CPU will favour some more. Get something like this instead, 1 kit of 2 3200mhz sticks for $30 less
Regarding your PSU, pretty sure the TX are great quality (and expensive) units. You could probably get away with spending a little less, but if you want a top quality psu go for it, it's important to have a psu of decent quality
So I'm deciding to build a Ryzen system for my next build and I was wondering what would happen if I got this RAM, would there be any compatibility issues? Not very knowledgeable about Ryzen but I know there are/were some RAM issues.
> So ddr4 is good but what about the MHz speed 2400 or 2666?
Neither, 2400 and 2666 is slow as shit. Get some decent speed stuff.
> Would my cpu be able to handle both?
Yes, ryzen has native support up to 2666mhz, and as long as you dont have an a320 motherboard you can go up to 4000mhz+
Get this ram if you want to buy of amazon:
RAM prices in the UK are absolutely hideous. I'm looking at UK shops and it's pretty much a nightmare to shop for RAM where you are right now. Who knows why. Single 1x8gb kits are not in stock anywhere. The only good buys on a decent kit of RAM in the UK is 2x8gb kits. If you want similar stuff for 1x8gb you have to pay an extra 25 pounds per stick
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-DDR4-3200-G-Skill-RipJaws-Memory/dp/B015FXXBW0/
For this kit it's actually an extra 4 pounds to get 2800 and 3000 rated kits, the 3200 is best deal right now. For this it's less than 75 pounds per stick, to get a single 8gb of similar stuff it's like 98 pounds per stick.
And what kind of ram is that? I have this ram https://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ripjaws-PC4-25600-3200MHz-F4-3200C16D-16GVKB/dp/B015FXXBW0
Alright in that case, for about $5 extra you can get this RAM which is black instead of grey.

Here's the amazon link to what I bought

I think these should be better?
Lol all good. So go for something like this 3200 CL16???
It's all compatible i wouldn't worry. You do need a case though, a nice lian li 205m or if you want to look for something cheaper would do well.
I do reccomend spending more for a b660 motherboard, so you can use dual channel RAM with the XMP profiles on. That is not possible with H610.
https://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ripjaws-PC4-25600-3200MHz-F4-3200C16D-16GVKB/dp/B015FXXBW0This RAM is much better for the dollar imo, although im not too versed in 12th gen Intel RAM performance. They gave you some good advice too, getting a 500gb can really easy to fill and it will be a bitch to replace. A 1tb is better obviously, but if you want you can just get a 1tb sata later on and pop it in ez pz.
They are these but in red
https://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ripjaws-PC4-25600-3200MHz-F4-3200C16D-16GVKB/dp/B015FXXBW0
I have 8gb or ram from my CPU. But I should also have 16 extra gb from these.
I should have 24gb in total
Looking on Amazon.in for India:
You find pairs of RAM by searching 2x8 RAM. 2x8=16, and 2x8 is how it'll be advertised.
Do not buy 1x16 RAM. Either buy RAM in a pair of 2x8, or buy two sets of 1x8 RAM.
-Pair of RAM for 6900 Rupees: https://www.amazon.in/G-SKILL-FBA4719692004970-Ripjaws-288-Pin-SDRAM/dp/B015FXXBW0/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1N4L0E7TS83W4&keywords=2x8+RAM&qid=1644529930&sprefix=2x8+ram%2Caps%2C180&sr=8-3
If you want RAM that has RGB lights on them, this model is popular. Going for 8700 rupees: https://www.amazon.in/G-SKILL-Trident-Memory-Module-3200Mhz/dp/B01MTDEYHU/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1N4L0E7TS83W4&keywords=2x8+RAM&qid=1644530137&sprefix=2x8+ram%2Caps%2C180&sr=8-4
If you find the Kingston RGB beast RAM in 1x8, you can buy two of those for a total of 16 GBs and it should be fine.

That it? I’m just looking at the amazon listing.
Is that XFORCE RAM? Can you explain the choice of RAM over the G.Skill 16GB 3200MHz ?
Perfect!
Here's the RAM I have, if you need more info I can try to find it!

I think it's an older version of this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015FXXBW0?psc=1
Got it in 2019
Thanks. I'll probably just buy a new matched set. Will either of these work?
it does support it, it says it is intel 2.0 ready, although i have ryzen cpu. It is this one https://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ripjaws-PC4-25600-3200MHz-F4-3200C16D-16GVKB/dp/B015FXXBW0
Get a Ryzen 5 3600X for your CPU ($200) (Or you can upgrade and get a better CPU for more $) If you get this CPU, get a different CPU cooler like a noctua DH15 because the stock cooled that comes with the 3600x is LOUD.
For your motherboard, go with the ASUS X570 TUF WiFi mobo https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-tuf-gaming-x570-plus-wi-fi-socket-am4-usb-c-gen2-amd-motherboard-with-led-lighting/6356983.p?skuId=6356983 ($200)
For RAM, go with regular 16GB G-SKILL RAM with ah least 3200MHZ, this would be around $70 but more MHZ would be slightly more costly.
https://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ripjaws-PC4-25600-3200MHz-F4-3200C16D-16GVKB/dp/B015FXXBW0
For your PSU, get a Corsair CX 650W 80+ Bronze which goes for $80 or a 700W PSU which could be a little more $. (In my opinion, a higher watt PSU is safer and more future proof because it’ll run more efficiently with lower energy requirements. The 3070 GPU recommends 650W at a minimum.
Lastly, get any case you want with front fans and a back fan. I like the Corsair icue 220T which goes for only $80 rn. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsair-icue-220t-rgb-airflow-atx-mid-tower-smart-case-black/6370550.p?skuId=6370550
Your extra $ here can go towards peripherals, extra RAM, a better CPU, an AIO for better CPU cooling, etc.

Wow, prices sure are high over there.
That's an excellent set of RAM and I've actually owned it before. Only reason I sold it at the time was because I was building a separate PC and that RAM was still a breeze to sell at the price I paid for it.
Do you by chance use Newegg or Amazon? That same RAM is just $70-$75 their...
Hopefully you can use these websites but if not and $90 is the lowest you can find, then by all means, go for the $90 set.

About to put together a basic bitch TUF x570, Ryzen 3600, 5700 XT pulse setup. Do either of these RAM options show clear advantages over the other? or is it just a matter of looks?
Not sure what exactly you are looking for. Some testimonials for CJR in the black version aren't too hard to find at other retailers:
F4-3200C16D-16GVKB page at Amazon. On the main page reviewer Keith from this October "My set uses Hynix CJR chips"
F4-3200C16D-16GVKB page at Microcenter reviewer tshrida "I've built about 10 systems with this specific kit, and I haven't had issues with a single one of them. The one I most recently bought was able to do 3600 cl16 with some adjustments, but it's generally Hynix CJR, so YMMV"
MFR was the first generation Hynix 8Gbit die, and was discontinued a while ago. It takes a bit for old chips to dry up with dimm manufacturers like GSkill. And then it takes longer for a retailer like Newegg to deplete old stock.

they are not RGB so idk if u would like to have them
I would suggest https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015FXXBW0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_IykiFbCPD5GMV 10ns btw
Ryzen 5 2600 is an amazing CPU so you would be fine for the next 2 years. But you said you want a PC that will last 3-4 years. In this case the 3600 would be much better becouse you would be fine at least for the next 3 years. Here is a video where you can see the difference between 2600 and 3600.
As for the RAM it doesn't really matter which do you buy but it should be at least 3200MHz. If I had to choose I would buy this one.
Everything looks pretty good but a few things. I recommend going Ryzen over Intel and getting a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, better cost/efficiency and it should run better. I would change out your video card (unnecessarily expensive) for a Nvidia rtx 2060 s. Also, I would get a b450 tomahawk max mobo, but you need to wait until it is within $130-$150, the prices for mobos are fluctuating and going in and out of stock daily. For the cpu, 16gb of quality ddr4 ram is good enough, 32gb is serious overkill.
Ram:

Ryzen 5 3600 vs. Intel i5-10600k:
Both have the same thread count and cores, both are overclockable.

Ok I'll flash the BIOS when I get a chance today. (Plenty of time to build up anxiety that the power will go out for the first time in over a year on a bright sunny afternoon like today.) Also here's the model of the RAM sticks along with the amazon link to them.

thanks for the info. But this is my first build and the extent of my knowledge about PCs is limited :// so i was wondering if you could help me out on this last bit.
