Too lazy to format link, but this is what kept me running through 36 weeks last time:
This support belt was really helpful for me while running! I started using it at the beginning of the second trimester, and it took me all the way through to the beginning of the third.
I bought a support belt, which was very helpful and I highly recommend! I know that helped me tack some extra weeks on there. If I'd been more consistent with it I think I could've gone even longer, but I'm glad I kept it up at least a little bit.
haha I may be a bit of a masochist! I think in my mind I was like "ok, it has been way better than you thought up to this point, let's try it out and see maybe it will be better than you expect" because until then I was 100% epidural all the way!
My best friend's mom is an L&D nurse and she's epidural all the way as well, I'm sure when you're in there day in and day out and see everything you have a good idea of what goes down, what to expect, and what you want for yourself. I think the contractions really surprised me the most, I thought they were going to be a sharp sharp pain, but instead they felt like really bad period cramps!
Also, I was incredibly polite to the nurses and am told I kept apologizing - at one point I remember a nurse giving drawn out directions and I was like "SHHHH CAN YOU PLEASE STOP TALKING" and then I felt terrible and kept apologizing - she was like "it's ok, you're having a baby" and I kept saying "No, there's no reason to be rude even in this circumstance." So odd, but I am like that in my normal life as well.
yes to weight training! I squatted, deadlifted, (no bench though due to my dr. telling me not to lay on my back and do the Valsalva maneuver) and ran throughout the pregnancy. It really helped with the pushing and my other best friend also weight trains and she only pushed for 10 minutes in her delivery. Plus, strong moms, strong babies! I would highly recommend this support band if you run/workout, it really kept things intact and prolly saved my bladder :)
What are some of your more memorable/crazy/favorite/touching deliveries that you have experienced?
Yep. I got it for running and was able to keep up with that until about 28 weeks; it made a huge difference! This is the one I got.
Gabrialla Elastic Maternity Support Belt (Medium Support), Size Medium, White [link]
This support belt helped on my back but by 31 weeks not a whole lot helps. At the height of the pain I was taking three baths a day and that helped. Even better if she can float in a pool and feel weightless.
