I watched the GN video then ended up buying this: Gabrylly Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair, High Back Desk Chair
I've been using mostly a dining room chair...so yeah most anything is going to be better. I was looking for something that was ok with wood floors an that had arms that could retract (so it'll fit under a desk easier).
I wasn't sure I'd like the mesh seat, but so far so good (I sit on my legs/feet a lot). The overall chair build quality seems very high and very sturdy. Especially the wheels which are super smooth on my wood floors.
Comfort was better than expected, I'm digging the adjustable headrest (my first time using a high back office chair). my only complaint is the armrests don't swivel, but it's super minor thing.
Need new desk chair. Old one (Maxnomic from 2015) has totally busted cushions and the seat plate leans to the side (have tried to re-tighten screws, no luck) which is adding a lot of unwanted stress to my hips and lower back.
Any recommendations? I wanted to get something with mesh instead of foam cushioning, was looking at the Gabrylly chair. Or should I just pay the premium and grab a Cosm or Aeron?
Used Herman Miller Chairs, Craigslist.
Amazon option it's a little less costly, nice chairs, we have 2, assembly is about 30 mins, They included in a separate order a few weeks later for free the "Roller blade" wheels on mine, and they are great. $55 off coupon on there right now.

If you think you would use a standing desk, uplift desks are awesome and good quality.
For chairs, if you’re willing to spend $1500+ Herman Miller chairs are the best. I didn’t want to spend that much so I bought this “dupe” on Amazon and I’m very happy with it. I use this chair in my home office where I WFH, game, and do school work. This chair has been great for me. I'm 6'2" and the headrest adjusts enough for me to appropriately use it. it's comfortable without compromising support. I've had it two years and it's still going strong. If it ever craps out I'll probably just reorder it.

I was recently in the market for the same thing. This one looks like a knock off of a Herman Miller. Bonus points for me because it fits tall people quite well.
I'm at my desk 10 hours a day, 4 days a week and just invested in This office chair
I've had it about a week now and it is very comfortable compared to my old regular office chair.
I don't know if it's this chair, but this is what I found. I apologize if this is the chair that you bought.
Could just be a similar looking one, but I think it's this.

I bought this for $260 3 years ago. Best chair I’ve ever owned, setup was easy. There is a $30 coupon you can apply when its in your cart.
I spend a lot of time in this chair. I work full time remotely and am a full time (online) college student, so I was realy picky when I was shopping.

Looks like a great chair. Wish I saw this one before I got my Myo chair, the seat is basically a dog hair collector
I was anxious I wouldn't like a decent office chair for the price I was looking at, but ended up getting this: Amazon.com: Gabrylly Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair, High Back Desk Chair - Adjustable Headrest with Flip-Up Arms, Tilt Function, Lumbar Support and PU Wheels, Swivel Computer Task Chair: Furniture & Decor

And honestly it's super comfy chair. I was worried about having a mesh seat, but it's way nicer than I thought possible with mesh. Very comfy to sit it..it has encouraged me to sit properly in a chair more often. I use to sit on my feet/legs a lot, but now it's way more comfy to just sit regular in this chair.
i think you are moving into office chair territory with wanting lots of adjustments check out Gabrylly
I did a lot of research on 'gaming' chairs and finally convinced myself to just get a nice office chair instead.
I ended up with this and it's REALLY nice/comfortable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y8BXBX8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I was a little apprehensive about it having a mesh seat since I often sit on my legs/feet, but this mesh is awesome and super comfortable no matter how I'm sitting.
Also it works great on hardwood floors, the wheels are super nice quality and smooth (doesn't leave any marks at all), but still stiff enough that you won't roll away from your desk if you put your feet up/lean back.
Bonus is that it has flip-up arms, which means you can slide it under desks really easy when not using it.
The hell is a racing chair? Don't buy into that nonsense, they're overhyped underperforming garbage. I got this chair for around $289 and it's amazing. Gabrylly office chair
I searched hard for a chair that was within my budget and looked great, and this is the best one that I could find.

I bought this when I starting working from home full time. I've spent a literal couple thousand hours using it daily so far. It still feels and looks like new.
I really REALLY like it.

My husband and both work 100% remote and use this chair. It’s very comfortable, ergonomic and not too pricey. Gabrylly Ergonomic Mesh Office... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y8BXBX8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I ordered this chair. Not sure its available in GB but the company sent me a smaller gas piston for free.
If your budget is under $300
Get a good wired headset. I use the Plantronics 3210 and love it. Don't be that moron talking on your computer mic and making everyone hear echoes of themselves during a meeting.
Mesh office chair is a must. We have both of these and they are both comfortable and have lasted multiple years so far:

Second (and third in my case) monitors, separate keyboard and mouse makes working on a laptop a lot more comfortable. I am partial to Logitech devices for mice and keyboards.
Also your life will be easier if you have a dedicated desk and even better, a dedicated room in your house to work. I turned a spare bedroom into my office and I only use that room to work. If I'm in that room it means I'm working. Fan for white noise or keeping cool.
I also have a huge whiteboard for tracking tasks and notes that I need to keep visible. File cabinets, laser printer, task light, area for my dog to chill.
