Hi Jonathan, I've been designing a game off-and-on for the past 3 years. Playing The Witness gave me a boost of creativity to get over some design humps, which has been very productive. Thanks to the hard work from everyone at Thekla for that.
I've read some books, such as Mindstorms and Flow, that aren't ostensibly about game design, but have been huge sources of inspiration as well.
In that vein, do you know of any books that a game/puzzle designer could read to get inspiration from, that aren't recommended often? Even if it's only tangentially related, but something that inspiration can be gleaned from, would be most appreciated. Thanks.
(P.S. Games, Puzzles, and Computation is worth checking out.)
