Gamesir T4 Pro is my choice. I used the Nvidia controller for a year but after using this Gamesir controller I immediately ordered two more. My family loves this one.
not to pour salt in the wound, but i (unrelated) found this, here:
> PS: About iOS devices, T4 pro only supports iPhone, iPad. The Mac, Apple TV not supported.
(bold, mine.) i was looking up mfi controllers for apple tv and kept thinking, "why does this sound so familiar.” shame, too. it's definitely one of the better looking ones.
(i don't think it's truly mfi if it doesn't support all of them.)
This wireless one works well for me. GameSir 4T Pro
I found this one on Amazon that says it’s compatible with Macs. Reviews seem respectable for the price. There may be better options out there; this is just the first compatible one i saw that looks decent around your price range.
You want the GameSir T4 Pro
In case you have a PS4, PS4 controllers natively support bluetooth. To put it in BT pairing mode for your tablet, hold down the Options button while holding the PS button to turn the controller on.
If you're in the market for a controller specifically for your tablet, I can recommend the GameSir T4 Pro (especially if it's on sale). It has a rumble feature (though Android devices won't support the rumble), comes with a USB dongle for use with a PC, and natively supports a variety of games like Minecraft etc... It works great for me in RetroArch.
I recommend the GameSir T4 Pro. It has compatibility with PC, Android, Switch, and iOS. It also comes with a dongle that you can use for low latency wireless.

It’s great, I use it for Sneaky Sasquatch and my PC games. It comes with a phone holder clip, charging wire, and USB dongle.

I've been using this Gamesir T4 Pro wireless controller and it's been working great. For $35 bucks it has pretty solid build quality. Responsive controls. Easily connects to my android device and my PC. Battery life is strong. Would highly recommend.
I have these ones $46 cad and they work perfectly and I’ve never had to update them. 🤷🏼♀️
The G5 doesn't have Gyro, a game breaker for me so...
https://www.amazon.com/GameSir-Wireless-Controller-Customizable-Showstopping/dp/B07HG51ZYK/
I Got this one (Gamesir T4 Pro) some weeks ago without many expectations but, instead, i was pleasantly surprised. You can pair it to PC as a Switch Pro so Steam sees the Gyro, etc etc. It has bottom paddles but they can only be used to mimic other controller buttons, useful for moving stick presses to better positions or some other commonly used buttons depending on game (this is done at hardware level, steam doesn't sees those extra buttons). I tested it playing The Division 2 with gyro mouse set on left trigger press (perfect for that game) and works awesome..Onestly i didn't saw so much difference in gyro quality with steam controller. I was worried for battery duration but for now, even after 6 hours sessions, it was still going...I also tested it in AC:Odyssey, Destiny 2, COD:MW and worked very well (Destiny was a pain to configure but only because is a stupid game lol)
Since you need to use it in "switch" mode for gyro, you will have the face button reversed (A=B, X=Y) as is on Nintendo consoles but, this is easily fixable with steam configurations
The D-Pad is a bit "mushy" and the overall feel is decent but not at the levels of an original ds4 or switch one. Still for 35$ is a nice controller. Triggers are OK, bit short run but ok for most uses i think
P.S.
I also own 3 Steam controllers (wanted to have some backup since is discontinued LOL) but at times, for some games, i think that a classic dual stick controller+gyro feels better (AC: Odyssey comes to mind and many others).

Sorry for Typos and bad English...is not my main language, I'm from Italy
I'd stick with Xbox-equivalent controllers, since those tend to be the most compatible across games on Steam.
Here's a personal favorite, good price and quality:

Or if you want a more Playstation-style layout, I like this one a lot too:

Much more fun using the controller imo. Although, the one I use is much better, and a decent price too. Its called the Gamesir T4 Pro
I accidently posted the wromg model previously. I use the Gamesir t4 pro: GameSir T4 pro: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07HG51ZYK/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_85GN6WFX0Z9NXF9Y8GX0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Around $35 US and has decent response.
I have the same problem. Many gamepads bluetooth doesn't work with Android TV (e.g. Gamesir T4, look on compatibility table: https://www.amazon.com/GameSir-Wireless-Controller-Customizable-Showstopping/dp/B07HG51ZYK )
So, I'm also looking for good quality bluetooth gamepad for MDZ-22-AB.
Its out of stock at the moment, but you may be able to find it somewhere else.
Get the Switch Lite and a Game for now.
Drift right out of the box is VERY rare, though the system uses the same thumbsticks as the joycons so it is still something you should watch out for.
Its covered under your system warranty, so you shouldn't worry about anything for at least a year.
I will always recommend going 8bitdo over just about any controller you will find on Amazon. Gamesir is just another knock-off controller made by some unknown chinese manufacturer, "Gamesir" doesnt make them themselves.
Here is a Gamesir listing, and Here is a nearly identical controller by an entirely different company, and here is a SECOND identical controller by yet another company.
What you "save" by buying a device like that is also saved by the manufacturer somewhere. It could be a total lack of quality assurance, substandard parts, or who knows what else. Its almost never worth the savings.
Be wary of Amazon reviews, but this controller seems to support the Switch and PC: https://www.amazon.com/GameSir-Wireless-Controller-Customizable-Showstopping/dp/B07HG51ZYK
I use a GameSir T4 Pro because it has 4 back buttons and works with a ton of devices. It's pretty cheap too.
I'm late to the thread but I bought this a month ago and I'm loving it. IMO wireless is better but they offer a wired version as well.
8bit do controllers (as others have suggested) or you can try the "gamesir t4 pro" https://www.amazon.com/GameSir-Controller-Wireless-Gamepad-Windows/dp/B07HG51ZYK/
It has USB-C for charging, 4 extra buttons on bottom like the Elite, an Xbox layout and since can be used with steam as a switch controller you also get a decent gyro (i played the division 2 an destiny 2 with this). I just don't know if you can use it cabled in switch mode. I always used it bluetooh in switch mode ( a 2.4 wireless dongle is included for other modes).
For the price i was really positively surprised.
Late answer but i hope to be still helpful:
I'm like you, always SC but i also wanted classic 2 sticks controlelr with gyro to use ONLY with Steam/PC since i don't own any consoles so, i looked on amazon and i bought those (i will use amazon.it links since is where i got them):
https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B07HG51ZYK/
Pretty surprised by this, use this in Switch mode and use gyro and all with steam without any problems. Is a bit strange since, the physical layout of face buttons is xbox but ofcourse, in switch mode, the inputs are the swapped nintendo ones (easily fixable since you can just infert them in steam configurator). Gyro works very very well, used it with titles like the division 2, destiny 2, AC: Odissey (for the bow) and, is just awesome. It also have back paddles/buttons that can mimic only existing controller buttons (like on xbox elite, etc). Battery lasts a lot (at least 8/9 hours if you don't keep stick light too bright) and recharges really really fast (45 minutes for full charge..WTH?). Construction quality is a bit plasticky, sure not elite feel but not even bad as some obscure chinese clone..consider also the very good price.

This is an ELITE product (and pricey) so not really comparable to the gamesir but still, since we WANT gyro controllers that work awesome with Steam..HERE YOU GO!
Connect it to PC using ALWAYS PS4 (or PS4 Advanced) MODE, if you connect it to pc in PC MODE, you only get an Xbone controller (no gyro, no touchpad, useless). SO USE PS4 MODES!!! Battery i think can last like 12 hours and more (i never did sessions so long but when i used it for 6 hours straight, it was still at half the charge). Recharge takes some times (4+ hours)
Gyro: is really really great, very firm, i calibrated it in steam the first time and is still firm and precise after a whole week of gaming (SC instead tends to drift after some hours/days)
Touchpad: is awesome utility. I never had a Ps4 controller and always tought about the touchpad on DS4 as an almost useless thing but instead I LOVE IT. In steam it can be setup in 2 separate zones (left and right) each one with 2 commands (touch and press) so, is bit like having 4 additional buttons (almost). Ofcourse you can set it up as gyro activation on touch/press if you want.
Triggers: Since is a PS4 controller, you also get analog triggers that, can be setup in steam to be similar to the dual stages ones of the SC. For example, i setup gyro activation on soft left trigger pull and then Aim down Sight on Full press so i get the fast gyro to use also as hipfire but i still keep it when i full press into full aim mode (works very well in Destiny 2) . I don't think you can get this with the gamesir since i think that Switch mode have only digital triggers.
Extra back buttons: As usual, they can only mimic existing controller buttons and also emulate a touchpad press (but not a touch). They are nice to have but i think that they are better positioned and have a better feel on the much cheaper Gamesir T3 Pro.

So in the end, if you want an elite controller with extra touchpad utility (and meh back buttons) go for the NACON UNLIMITED EVOLUTION but instead, if you want a less pricey controller (and prefer better back buttons but no analog triggers) i would really consider the Gamesir T4 PRO. I love both of them to be honest and for now i don't really miss my steam controllers (i have 2 brand new ones i will keep into their box for now).

Sorry for the long answer and for the bad english/typos =)
Oh WOW, i didn't noticed before now that this PowerA controller had 2 back buttons...i really have to try one.
I have one of those: https://www.amazon.co.uk/GameSir-Wireless-Gamepad-Controller-Joystick/dp/B07HG51ZYK/ and works really awesome on Steam in switch mode (and has back buttons too). Is peculiar because, the physical layout of the face buttons (ABXY), is that of an xbox controller so you can find those inverted in switch mode but, is pretty easy to arrange them with steam configurator..
EDIT: Cool, i got downvoted and i don't know why lol
