Sorry, yes. :-)

Yup! Exactly why I went with the Bluetooth version. The way the USBC version lines up would drive me nuts.

Here is a Bluetooth one that you can leave the case on.

But going that path you want something simple a lot of people look up Powkiddy like this unit. You should browse their site as there are different ones with different power and form factors. All should be sold on Amazon or eBay.
I believe Gamesir makes a Bluetooth one that will fit the fold 3 with ease. Seen a couple folks use that one successfully. Gamesir X2 Bluetooth
I personally went for the Gamesir x2 Type C (direct connection though the usbc port) so that there's minimal latency. Though keep in mind depending on how thick your case is it may be too bulky for the usbc port to extend through. Gamesir X2 Type-C
I'm using this one on my ZF3. No lag that I have noticed outside of typical xCloud hiccups.
Gamesir Bluetooth for sure. I've been using mine for months and works perfectly with X-box game pass. Miniscule to no lag and you don't have to take your case off like the USB-C version. You can also only put your phone in one way with the USB-C version. Also, you can connect your phone to the TV with a Samsung Dex cable and use the Bluetooth controller without having the Fold connected to the controller - you CANNOT do this with the USB-C model. I would def stick with the Bluetooth - WAY more versatile.

Almost all third-party controllers with bluetooth will connect to your phone, and you can even use a PS4 or Xbox controller.
There are some really nice bluetooth ones that allow your phone to turn into a switch-like device.

These are neat because they also allow you to map touchscreen presses, so you can play touchscreen mobile games by simulating with a button what your fingers should press on the screen.

I got the X2 Bluetooth version, in case it doesn't automatically link to that page. I'm a PC gamer with high refresh rate monitors and low latency periferals, and I don't detect any input lag from this controller, so it must be within the ~10ms that they claim.
