I just bought a Garmin Instinct from Amazon and it's great so far. Battery life is pretty good (lasts for a few days). It's a no frills look (which I personally like) but has enough features that I don't feel like I'm missing out. Bonus is their training program, which I've started using to train for a half. $190 (preowned or refurbished)

Warning!!!! The UI will make you depressed when moving from the pebble. It is atrocious. However, everything else is decent and the HR sensor is reliable.
