Those are both great suggestions. Like others have said tank grips and holding with the legs will help a lot.
A cheaper option than a whole new seat is a staple gun and a pad - I like the purple mattress material from Amazon. Take the seat cover off, cut the foam out in the shape of the pad, get the pad inserted into the foam, then recover. If you have an extra hundo you can get really cool looking seat covers.
I had a similar problem - I just could not get on with the seat of my gen 3 superduke, but the fucker is such a riot to ride I never wanted to get out of the saddle. They make an ergo seat, but at 5’8” with short legs, the taller ergo seat is suboptimal. So I spent 150$ on a new seat cover and 45$ on some purple pad material, and boom. Worlds better.
