There is a show based from this book. They're both called Generation Kill

The book was written by a soldier and tells you a lot about his experience. I haven't actually read it, but it was recommended to me.

Edit: I thought of another one. Marine Sniper is also written as a firsthand account but takes place in Vietnam.

Generation Kill was pretty damn awesome. I blew through it in about 2 days. Much better than the show on HBO.
