I should probably check on this. I have this zipped to the strap on my hydro pack... Brought it on a bike-camping trip to the Mountains, and just left it there (not for local rides).
I'm a 20 y/o woman and I carry a pocket knife in my purse almost all the time (obviously not if I'm going through airport security or anything)
But, then again, a pocket knife has way more uses (needing to cut off a thread, cutting open a package, cutting off a condenser tube, cutting off a seatbelt in an accident, etc. Not to mention it makes me feel way safer walking home at night). If I were in this situation and it really was a prank and I was enough of an idiot to decide to cut the landline, I would have reached for a pocket knife, not wire cutters.
(also my pocket knife is really great. The blade is under 3" because that's what's allowed on my campus, but it has both a serrated and a straight edge. I'd definitely advise carrying one to anyone who doesn't already)
Well the actual price would be like 100 bucks right? (at least it is in Euro)
Theres one for sale for 40 Euros right now, should I get it?
Dude my bear grylls knife put a hole in my undies when I had it shoved into my waist band (no sheath b/c I am la ultralight).
BTW, I am another 1 kilo/2.2lb lighter because I didnt notice how sharp that knife is....
I think it's this one.
What do you think of your knife that's out in the market?
How much input did you have in the quality and making of the knife? What would you change?
looks good - but expensive. check out the bear grylls knife, firesteel, sharpener, emergency whistle, hard sheath, $36.11 to your door.
What do you want to use it for? Cooking? Bushcrafting? Self defense? How, where, and when would you carry it?
You may also want to consider smaller fixed blades, such as neck knives (if you really plan to EDC it).
Moras are ubiquitous and affordable, but not really "heavy duty".
There's also the this if you're into Bear Grylls stuff and want a survival-style blade.
Expect to pay in the range of 60-80$ (or even more) if you want a good full-tang fixed blade knife.
