Good call. Often people are disconcerted by someone wielding an offensive weapon that is of an 'up close and personal' nature. Cold Steel certainly makes a high quality machete, as does Gerber and SOG.

Personally, I own and often practice with a SOG Tactical Tomahawk Imagine seeing a person strutting through a riot with a cocky hitch in their step; a tomahawk in their hand and machete across their back. Most people will search for easier prey.
