it does, unfortunately. If you want something that seems to have its grip last longer, try some bat grip
Also -- I've seen similar issues with wipes that contain ethyl alcohol, but I don't see any signs of similar coating degradation using 70% isopropyl alcohol on a paper towel.

I use this stuff https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08V5BN3F7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it feels grippier than the Lizard Skins that were on a NP-01 I got off mousemarket. You have to trim it, though, since the adhesive doesn't go all the way to the edges of the strip.
Logitech G305; Razer Viper Ultimate https://www.rtings.com/mouse/tools/3d-model-shape-compare/logitech-g305-lightspeed-vs.-razer-viper-ultimate?orientation=3D&texture=solid&overlap=beside G305 definitely seems to be the closest answer I can come up with.
There's also the Corsair Katar Pro Wireless https://www.rtings.com/mouse/tools/3d-model-shape-compare/corsair-katar-pro-wireless-vs.-logitech-g305-lightspeed?orientation=3D&texture=textured&overlap=beside which is similar, but not only is it wider than the G305 (as you can see) I believe the performance is considered worse than the G305 as well.
I've also found throwing something like this bat grip on mice with flatter sides goes a long, long way to improving your ability to grab/lift them. (Not some black magic unique to me, grip tape is quite common for people on this sub. Just linking a product that I'm fond of that's priced well compared to most options).
The MSI Clutch GM41 wireless and Glorious Model O Wireless are some mice that could be good options with grip tape, although they're medium- to large-sized mice and IIRC the Diamondback wasn't that large.
