For anyone interested it looks like they took some of these $20 changing pods, cut a hole in the back, and taped some clear plastic sheet to it. Honestly a pretty solid solution on a school budget. Maybe even under 20 if bought in bulk?
::Although I do often have to go in the woods when hiking on weekend mornings once the coffee hits and I have no idea how to not pee in public at that point.::
Thanks and of course! This is the tent I went with but of course anything similar should work! Edit: This particular one doesn’t have a bottom so I duct taped a contractor bag as a makeshift (and disposable) floor.
I take my wife and daughter to group hangs all the time and we often get other ladies at these events as well. Step one is to simply let everyone know what’s up, that you need a few moments privacy. Most everyone needs and understands that. Second if it’s a bigger deal to you is to set up a few yards away from others. Hang your tarp to block the view and use your hammock to further screen the view of others.
If your car camping then you may have access to a bathroom at the campground or consider bringing a privacy pop up like this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CP8SJVW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_A35lEbJA827R6
But there are lots of others, search camping privacy pop up on amazon.
What I'm doing is making my own toilet (5 gal bucket w/ toilet seat attached and bottom cut out) then digging a hole and covering it after. Oh yeah and I'm buying this pop up tent for privacy.
Get a pop up privacy tent/shelter/shower tent. https://www.amazon.com/GigaTent-Pop-Pod-Changing-Room/dp/B00CP8SJVW/ref=asc_df_B00CP8SJVW/
If this was my daily problem and I needed a daily solution I would carry a portable pop-up shelter and a wag bag kit. Weird times call for weird solutions.
Carry an Anker brand battery charger and a bunch of hand warmers.
My first year we used a basic pop-up tent from Amazon with a portable shower pump. Last year, we used the same portable shower pump with a 2 room pop-up shower tent. Sorry I'm on mobile and will try to add links later! :-)

You could build something like this to use. I planned to make one for myself with clear plastic sheeting and a PVC frame with either a long zipper or series of snaps for the door, and a mesh-covered hole connected to some ducting, which would lead to an exhaust fan. But for just sanding you could probably just use a shop vacuum instead of the ventilation fan.

I keep a pop up single person privacy tent (like this https://www.amazon.com/GigaTent-Pop-Pod-Changing-Room/dp/B00CP8SJVW/ref=sr_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=pop+up+shelter&qid=1630877904&sr=8-14) in my car with a Luggable Loo (https://www.amazon.com/RELIANCE-Luggable-Portable-Camping-Toilet/dp/B00YXBYACG/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=luggable+loo&qid=1630877944&sr=8-2). I can pull over and set it up in less than a minute and have at least visual privacy. I keep it set up already with a bag, and make sure I have extra strength trash bags and wet wipes and toilet paper immediately available. It's been really helpful for traveling during COVID with my kids when I don't want to take them into a gas station where no one's wearing masks and my youngest is unable to be vaccinated yet. It's also been fantastic for camping! But yes - I would like for it to be less of a hassle and more of a magical contraption that I don't have to even think about to make it easier to not have an accident in the car.
I'm guessing it's something like this?
You can get pop-up changing booths.
