I’ve been using this one for about a year now and it’s still holding up fairly well. I find that sometimes it doesn’t spring back to its full height, buts that typically only for the smaller one when I’ve been playing games all day.
No wrist rest with good posture is the best, palms should be in the air. But if you really want one just go for the soft gel ones on Amazon like so: https://www.amazon.com/Gimars-Memory-Keyboard-Support-Computer/dp/B01M11FLUJ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=keyboard+wrist+rest&qid=1571679210&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEySzNCTjVFVEhDU041JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMTIxNT...
I find it comfortable with a pretty cheap wrist rest I got from amazon (link )
I have not had extensive experience with other switches so this is where my opinion loses some value, but I do find the Red’s to be very nice. I use it for my work in programming and light gaming sometimes. I think if you prefer a certain type then go for those switches (red suited my needs but was also the only available at the time).
I opted for the aluminum frame which makes it a little heavier than the other options. I have the RGB backlights too and they look great with a lot of variety. It comes with some extra keycaps so you can choose Windows/Mac specific keys like Command vs. Alt. I think I’m going to use the extra to try some customizing.
I would definitely agree that the pain is coming from my elbows. I am trying to keep them straight, but it's not really solving the problem. I just ordered this pad from Amazon two days ago, so that should be arriving today actually.
I actually looked into the MX ergo though, but felt like it would still cause the same issues I'm having with traditional mice. Do you have experience with any of the Kensington trackballs?
I'm also looking to purchase a chair. I spent a few hours yesterday researching them.
I used to have some problems with my wrists a lot and these wrist rests helped me. Idk if you use one but putting on some braces when the pain comes up could maybe help too
This? Or you could be cheap and use a USB extension cable to bring keyboard to edge, and just fold a handkerchief in front of mouse pad like me :)
I'm looking for a wrist rest but am unsure what to get.
Just look on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M11FLUJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_MpiOzbK2EBK1S
I buy most things on amazon, hopefully that’s available where you live.
For the wrist rest: Gimars Memory Foam Set Keyboard Wrist Rest Pad & Mouse Wrist Rest Support https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M11FLUJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Aed7BbZWEYDW6
For the tape: 2" Vet Wrap Tape Bulk, Self Adherent Wrap Tape, Self Grip Roll (2" inches Wide x 15' Feet Long) - 18 Rolls https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UEHDRQI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_D6c7BbA47W0NK
(I buy the pet version of the tape because the human version can cost much more)
If you dont mind me asking what mouse DPI are you using? I think people with high sensitivity are more prone to carpal tunnel cause they use their wrist to stabalize mouse and make micro movements.
Have you ever tried those padded mouse pads https://www.amazon.com/Gimars-Memory-Keyboard-Support-Computer/dp/B01M11FLUJ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=VKL04C4HM7X5&keywords=mouse+padding&qid=1661196805&sprefix=mouse+padding+%2Caps%2C102&sr=8-3
My best advise would be to make sure your wrists are properly supported. So use something like a small memory foam pillow in front of your mouse and keyboard so your wrists aren't resting on the table but are elevated so they are mostly straight.
So something like these:
It’s just this generic one from amazon
Not a solution to replacing the wrist rest 1 for 1, but I would recommend this:
I've been using one of these for 3 years and while it's worn in/faded, it's still going strong for an affordable rate.
Thank you thank you. The wrist pad for both keyboard and mouse came together.
It’s ugly but damn it’s nice
I already own that one here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M11FLUJ and I am quite sattisfied with it actually. The increase in price from one model to the other is about 21€ on eBay for a new board.
What is uncomfortable about it? Have you tried using it fully flat? You can always get something like this https://smile.amazon.com/Gimars-Memory-Keyboard-Support-Computer/dp/B01M11FLUJ/
