I would recommend Glittering Vices: A New Look at the Seven Deadly Sins and Their Remedies for a good overview of the relationship between Sin and Vice. Pride is essentially the root cause of all of the seven deadly sins (more aptly called the Capital Vices). Pride is the original sin of Lucifer and of Adam and Eve. All mortal sins in some sense are rooted in pride in that the sinner puts his/her own judgment or desires above those of God.
