Why not buy one of those pull-up bars you can attach to a doorframe? They're really cheap and you can take them straight off again when you're done so it doesn't impact on anyone else.
One like that. They're a great exercise. Just by regularly doing pull-ups, push-ups, bodyweight squats and sit-ups you can get a good well-balanced physique.
Do you have a door? Sounds like a silly question I know but why not use something like this?

This is pretty much the gold standard of pull-up bars: [link]
Last year my housemates and I bought an Iron Gym from Decathlon for £30. It had several mounting holes for the horizontal bar so you can adjust it to fit on door frames of varying width. The horizontal bar itself is a single piece, IIRC, and is very sturdy. Since then I have moved and I am using this pullup bar with these rings and is holding up fine. The pullup bar is pretty flimsy though, you definitely get what you pay for, so I would recommend getting the proper Iron Gym one and not the cheap ripoff that I bought. This is what the whole setup looks like.
