I agee. Herbert McCabe may be of interest, he is a more orthodox Catholic (dominican), but still gets on with marxism. Theres a chapter in this book of his on class struggle:

You might find Herbert McCabe's writing to be helpful. God Matters, Faith Within Reason, and God Still Matters come to mind.
McCabe believed that faith and reason could go hand-in-hand, and was very strongly influenced by Thomas Aquinas, who believed the same. But McCabe is easier to read than Aquinas is.
