A lot of city people who don’t know how to park very well use what I call the “tap method” by which they gauge the park by tapping the back bumpers, or vice versa, before going forwards again. I used to watch this occur daily when I lived on a street with very little parking. I recommend everyone buy bumper pads similar to this one:

I don't have a bike rack for my car, but I think if you paired the trunk-mounted rack with a bumper guard, it might be what you're looking for.
All over up there people have shit like this, bumper mat, and they just back up till they hit you then go forward and repeat...
I'd either tell him you don't care or get one of these to shut him up.
