You've gotten lots of reassurance already, but just wanted to add my voice to the chorus that you're totally normal. BC can definitely dry you out. I had a terrible time with it. But even when I'm not on BC, I hardly ever get wet enough for enjoyable sex. I've been with my partner with years and am plenty relaxed and turned on with him, but my body just doesn't make enough lube on its own for much else besides fingering. It's dependent on my cycle, too. Hardest to get wet around my period; easier around ovulation.
We used Wet Naturals Beautifully Bare for years, but have been trying to find a lube with less chemicals lately. Coconut oil is really soothing, but neither of us are crazy about the smell or that it takes quite a bit more than water-based lubes to get the same glide. This one has been working pretty well for us lately, but I'm interested in trying what /u/DevianttKitten suggested, too.
Good Clean Love: Almost Naked - water-based, organic, really great for allergies/sensitivity issues. My boyfriend (trans - he has a vagina) has serious sensitivity issues with every other freaking lube he's tried, so he introduced me to it. I've never had issues with other lubes and I've used a ton of different kinds, but this one is by far my favorite. No contest. I like the cinnamon smelling one.
[edit - we have tried coconut oil together, hoping for a cheaper alternative, and while it didn't burn for him, we both agreed it was awkward to work with, nowhere near as good feeling, stained our sheets, and was weird feeling after. Sad day.]
Oh wow this is gonna be so much better than Astroglide!
That product is good too, but if you're looking for lube it's this one.
This is my favorite. It tastes pretty good too which is a bonus.
This is great for in the shower, just don't overuse it or you'll be a hot mess.
Don't underestimate foreplay, it's not just so she can get wet :)
We had the same issue and have been using this for a number of years.
