On paper it says at the end of this year it'll stop getting updates, but I believe the original pixel wasn't supposed to get 9.0 or anything after and it did for a good year after they said it shouldn't. So who knows how long but definitely until the end of this year.

I found a P3 on sale and got that but I was rocking the P2 for a long time and it's still a solid phone, the camera on IMO still holds its own up against all the new flagships

You'll be able to get all app updates, just OS updates will stop at the end of this year, that won't effect app updates.

I bought an Amazon Renewed Pixel 3 for 275$ this week, it's on their again for 250$, the one they sent is flawless, you wouldn't even know it's refurbished.
