Here you go. I have been eyeing them for a while and finally pulled the trigger and bought them. I'm very happy with the decision.
This video has the the color saturation and brightness turned all the way up to Max to showcase this fight for the video I made. But you can set it so it's a lot more subtle and just kind of blends in the background.

Nice setup, looks amazing, not a fan of the Arc though, I currently have the PlayBar in my living room with 2 Play 1's and 2 Sub's and wouldn't trade it for anything, especially with it being all wireless, clean look and quality, plus the wife acceptance, if you would like to up the TV backlighting, have a look at the Govee Immersion, makes a hell of alot difference.

It's pretty neat, it uses a camera to view your screen and then casts the rim colors onto the wall behind the TV. It sounds shticky, but it's so magical and immersive, especially when you have a mounted TV with a clear wall around it.

I have this one and it works well. Only downside is the camera might be a bit visible when mounted on top of the TV but the kit works great otherwise.
Thanks for the comments everyone! I really appreciate it 🙏🏼
Here is the link for the setup I bought! It has a camera that attaches to the top of your tv and will change colors depending what’s on the screen! It’s so awesome!!

You could try this one. I got them a month ago. $70 after Amazon coupon. They’re really nice, but the camera looks stupid. There’s about a million posts about them on /r/Govee.
I have been thinking about getting one for my 27" monitor, but for my 65" TV I have this setup. I bought it some time ago in Prime Day and I am very happy with it. The only minor issues I had is that I had to calibrate it and play with the settings a few times (but after that no real issues), and that it lacked instructions and explanations for the app but once I played enough with the app I was able to figure it out and is not that hard.
I just asked a friend about the one mentioned here and he told me the only issues he has is that the LEDs are not bright enough, and that you had to install Corsair software (although this might be a pro as it wont require a camera for the ambient light)
Amazon. Clip the coupon for $20 off.

I have this and it works pretty well. It's a camera that watches the TV rather than a direct line into a box, but it's a much smaller investment.
watch for cone dry out due to dry heat from stove. center Chanel in box and not direct under display could get funky. might add some lights for spice. looks good though enjoy. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LVPWQQP/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o01\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have the Govee Immersion kit and I love it. Returnal and Ratchet and Clank are great games to make these light systems pop. (Green Knight and Dune - great movies for it!)
This Govee setup works on up to a 65" TV, and uses a camera mounted on the top or bottom of your TV. I imagine Hue might be a bit more color accurate, but if you calibrate the Govee right you get great results. A pretty nice home entertainment addition for only around $80.

I have the Govee $70+ and it’s like this.
Immersion lighting is awesome.
Only thing I've been able to find anything on is the Govee TV backlighting kit, which fixes any latency issues since it's a closed system once it's set up and doesn't rely on my network. It uses a camera and app to capture the colors on the screen. It's meant for TVs but I don't see why it wouldn1't work with a monitor.

Just a heads-up, you can get a similar effect, at least around your TV, on a budget. I got one of these earlier this year, it has a small camera that mounts to the bottom of your flatscreen and that synchs the LED strips behind your TV for similar "color wash in synch with the picture" effects. $90. Would recommend.
It is a small camera that you attach to the top or bottom of the TV. The camera reads the color of the screen (after you calibrate) and then tells the lights what colors to change to. It's not as instantaneous nor as accurate, but it works pretty well for the most part. The main drawback for the Philips Hue is that if you want to use it through a console, the hue sync box is like $250 and only HDMI 2.0, so it will need to be replaced soon if they do update it.
I have 2 Govee ambient light set ups on two TVs I love it. It also gives you the impression of a larger screen since the action is beyond the borders.

I don't have them anymore, you can order them through amazon USA and get them delivered wherever you want in australia

I personally would go with the CX. I know that you said you didn't like the external cameras but with a little effort the camera can be hidden. A lot of people have posted videos on youtube showing different ways to conceal the camera while still getting the cool Ambilight effect. I have a this installed on my LG C9. I love it.

It a single smart light, but I’ve had my eye on this for a while!
Anyone know about old Phillips ambilight TV's? They had leds on the back of the set that would shine colors that were dominant on the tv screen to add a cool effect.
Well I've always wanted one, but the box you need to do it nowadays since they don't make those TV's anymore is like $400 on sale. Plus you need an led light strip as well which is another $100.
I ran across something on Reddit and then went to Amazon and found this "Govee Rgbic tv pro led backlight kit". It's the ambilight deal just far cheaper. It comes with a small box, a camera, a light strip for.up to 65 inch tv (what I have).
You put the led strip on the back of the tv and it's 3m adhesive with addition adhesive clips so over time it won't fall off.
You mount this small camera on top of bottom of your tv and then use these orange foam things you put on your tv to calibrate the camera and it shows you a picture and you like move these lines so the camera "sees" the entire screen.
It's Bluetooth, wifi enabled, works with Alexa and Google, and kicks SO much ass.
It's usually 80 bucks, buts but on sale on Amazon for 60 bucks for awhile now. It kicks ass with movies, video games, tv, you name it. Also works with music (reacts to sound) and also does other pre programmed light shows etc.
One of the coolest things I've done to my tv and if you're into that kinda stuff, I'd suggest you look it up. Even has a great phone app to control it all.

unzips aww yeah girl show me what you got.
But hey one the real,.look up on Amazon the "govee rgbic tv kit". It's normally 80 bucks down to 60.
It's an led strip with a camera that looks at the tv and changes the led colors to match the dominant tv color.
Think Phillips ambilight/hue box, but not 400$ for the box and $100 for the led strip.
Got it last week, is great with movies/tv/games. Couldn't reccomend it more.
For 60 bucks on Amazon right now, it's fantastic.

I recently got the Govee Immersion TV LED Backlight and I love it. To make it work with HK, I use HomeBridge (not a problem since I run HB on my Synology server, which is an always-on machine).
While the Hue Sync Box is great, you are limited to 2K (someone correct me if I'm wrong on the resolution limitation), thanks to Hue's recent update. However, 4K isn't supported (again, someone correct me if in error). HOWEVER, the Sync Box works perfectly with all your Hue lights so that's a huge plus. Unfortunately, it also costs a prohibitive amount, unless you've been slowly collecting Hue lights.
The Govee lights, however, don't have a box. They use an always-on, screen-aimed camera to identify color placement on the screen and then adjust the dynamic lighting based on that. As a result, the resolution being used is irrelevant and you can have an 8K image signal going to your TV without fear of it not being properly "read" by Hue. Price is also a fraction of Sync Box. A con is that there is a camera. For some people, that may be a deal breaker, but you can block network traffic of the device if it concerns you. Note that if you do that, you won't be able to remotely control the lights but will still be able to locally.
for sure. for the full immersion effect you have to buy a ton of stuff. there’s also a cheapo version that involves a camera above the tv to accomplish the same thing. almost unnoticeable amount of lag with that approach but I have it in our basement and am actually very happy with it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LVPWQQP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_SP4JE4T78ZD2W8DYVTDK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I added the light. It is working quite nice: Govee LED strip with camera
It is not working as fast as the Philips Ambilight but for me it works.
I've done way too much research on this govee backlight, and all I can say is DON'T BUY IT. Watch videos of it in action, there are plenty of user submitted videos on their Amazon page, and you will see that half of the time it has no idea what color is on the screen and defaults to blue, the other half of the time the color is either completely wrong or at least a horribly off hue of the true color. It does not add immersion, it breaks it.
You will end up spending about an hour installing and setting it up only to have this thing glued to your TV working poorly and a pain to remove and return.
If you don't believe me, watch ANY of the videos on the Amazon reviews page, it's visible in all of them: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LVPWQQP/
These ones are normally $80 but they were on sale for $50 during prime day so I finally pulled the trigger and purchased them. Attaches a link of the ones I bought. It's just one set it comes with the lights and the camera that watches the screen and then you use an app to calibrate it and change the settings how you want.

I've seen some lights like these on Amazon by a manufacturer called Govee. It has a camera you mount in front of the TV and it reads the colors in real time to adjust the ambient lighting behind the TV. The Sengled one doesn't mention a camera, only a microphone. How does that one work...?

The marketing says 55”-65” but it looks great on a 75”. I mounted the strip about 4” from the edge on the sides and about 2” from the the top and bottom edges.
It’s for 55+ TV’s but I guess you could loop it a bit at the corners so it would fit - r/govee should be able to advise.
If you’re UK you can’t get here till June but can get it from Amazon USA here and buy a USA to UK plug adaptor like I did.
I recently got the Govee Immersion Lights. There's a camera that looks at the screen that then displays those colors in real time, as well as a bunch of preset colors you can choose from. They're a little pricey at $80 but it's way cheaper than a Phillips Hue setup.

Thanks!

Looks like it was recently released. I just found out about it today on their app.
The one I have is not perfect and took some time adjusting, but I'm happy with the end result.
Hi all! I missed out on the original preorder, and have been waiting for them to come back in stock. If anyone has been looking it looks like the new version is finally on Amazon, and they have a Black Friday deal going on. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LVPWQQP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_huXVFb36A2EQV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Behind the TV
Lasers pointed center at the TV
Smart bulbs above the TV
Star Projector on ceiling
I'm about to make your dreams come true :) Govee - 80 DOLLARS!!! Uses a camera to sample whats on screen so you dont need to worry about PS5/120hz support, it works with anything that the screen shows! I since desaturated the colors a lot so it matches skin tones and skies perfectly now - the vid above was max saturation.
The trouble with Ambilight / Hue is they don't support 4k 120hz. So if you play on a 120hz tv/monitor it essentially just won't work at all.
I use these Govee lights:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LVPWQQP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_KRN6G1K4506JWN652SFD
If I had a better skill set and a larger budget though this looks like it would be a fun thing to do
Yepe sure.
I got the Govee Immersion WiFi TV LED Backlights with Camera. Spend 80 dollars on it and it really does add a lot watching T.V. You can get similar lighting systems for much cheaper but this one comes with a camera that actively looks at your T.V and adjust the lighting automatically. This works pretty well.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LVPWQQP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
There is one thing I don't like about it. It has different modes and the device can be tuned on by voice control. The default though is not the video setting (the one auto adjusting the backlighting) that I prefer so. I still have to use the app on my phone to switch it. Not a deal breaker but I figured I would mention it.
I made a post where you can see it in use. I just had it installed though so I had everything turned up to the max. It looks cool but for normal T.V watching we turn the brightness down to 50% so the video is a little over the top. I also recalibrated after I posted the video and it does a better job color matching the T.V now.
Anyways here it is:
https://www.reddit.com/r/bravia/comments/lfbzd1/loving_our_new_x950h_i_installed_it_yesterday_and/
If you read some of the comments you will also see people recommending other types of Bias lighting. Let me know if you have any more question.
I've used a bunch - I'm now using this one: https://smile.amazon.com/Govee-Immersion-Backlights-Ambient-Assistant/dp/B08LVPWQQP/

This may be an easier solution for the tv back lights.

Mine was an older version that definitely didn't cost 90 bucks when I got it, this is a newer version that looks better from the review videos though.
That link is broken, but this seems to be what he is using: https://www.amazon.com/Govee-Immersion-Backlights-Ambient-Assistant/dp/B08LVPWQQP
Govee makes a bunch of options, that use a camera instead of the HDMI sync box.
One option where you attach a light strip to the back of the tV
Then there is one with light bars you can place next to, or behind your tv
And then there is the combo pack of both the light strip, and light bars
And if you get other govee lights, you can sync it all together. I have govee products, but I don't actually have the immersion stuff. I use the sync when I do music reactive, and its cool to have multiple lights working together in time with the music. But I can't speak for the tv immersion stuff personally. Although most of the people in the govee subreddit seem to like it. It seems calibration can be tricky at first, but once its set up, it looks good.
Maybe something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Govee-Immersion-Backlights-Ambient-Assistant/dp/B08LVPWQQP
Seems like you damn near have all the accessories haha
I’m using this, it’s much cheaper: https://www.amazon.com/Govee-Immersion-Backlights-Ambient-Assistant/dp/B08LVPWQQP
And that’s the weird thing! My govee only works well whrn my phones on the 2.4 lol
I was just about to mention the govee kit. See the link below. This will also work with on tv lighting without an external source.

u/wastedtanttt have the two of you seen this yet? I've been eyeing it but I'm afraid my GF would think it's overkill.

What you are asking for is referred to as immersion backlights. Here is a popular one made by Govee:
https://www.amazon.com/Govee-Immersion-Backlights-Ambient-Assistant/dp/B08LVPWQQP
That version is made for 55-65" TVs, although the LED strips can can cut.
If you want to build your own then look at Hyperion, as mentioned by u/georgehotelling.

looks like there is a $20 off coupon rn for them too 👍🏼
Here is one of the most cost effective ways to get that:

There is also a version for larger TV 75-85"

If you're wanting to use the built in apps, check this out. Haven't used it myself, but it looks to do the trick!

Make sure all have Bluetooth. That is the only way to use highlight atm.
This will probably be your cheapest option. I use it, it's not perfect, but does work pretty well. I position the camera under the TV sitting on my TV cabinet so it isn't as noticeable as sitting on top of the TV.

Philips Hue is probably the best option, but very expensive and seems to always be out of stock. There are a few cheap brands that use HDMI pass-through boxes to pick up the screen color, but not sure how well they work.

^One of those cheaper options
I bought a Govee Immersion for my 65" Samsung after reading that they now let you put the camera on the top or the bottom. Since my TV is on a black cabinet (not on the wall) the camera is almost invisible on the bottom. Since it is setup and configured by the regular Govee smartphone app I can turn it on and off from Alexa. $20 off right now.

it is best to buy a govee ambient light kit separately https://www.amazon.com/Govee-Immersion-Backlights-Ambient-Assistant/dp/B08LVPWQQP and a television with google tv sony, hisense, tcl

$80 bucks now, they were just on sale for $50 prime day
Dude, this TV is ancient. This is a 3D LG TV when those are popular for like a day 10 years ago. It's just still going strong. I bought these lights separate.

There is also the Govee Immersion Kit which is a cheap option. I have it for watching movies, have gamed a little bit on it and it's pretty amazing.
Here is a video of it in action
I haven't tried the NZXT or Phillips options so maybe look at some pro's and con's for each.
I’m in the UK - I bought mine from Amazon.com here and it cost $97/£71 including shipping, and a cheap USA-UK adaptor from Currys. Came super quick too. I don’t think they’re releasing in the UK for a few months yet.
Not possible, they ship only in the USA.
On amazon It’s available....

Maybe they do not ship to your country?
Budget version that I have and love Govee WiFi TV LED Backlights with... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LVPWQQP?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Expensive but more accurate version is Philips Hue Play Sync box plus hub and lights
I think OP is using the gradient light strip.
Back around Christmas there were tons of videos of people using these for their ps5 setups and I immediately wanted it too.
I have zero hue lights so I went online, got the setup: Hue bridge, sync box, gradient light strip. All in it was just over $500.
Easy to setup, quality built stuff. App was easy. I was blown away when I fired up the ps5 but still, $500 is quite a bit for the light show even though the build quality really was there. The light strip itself is thick, the sync box is heavy with solid traction on whatever you set it on.
But I only found myself using it with my ps5 and since most of what my family watches comes from the built in tv apps, the sync box did nothing since it needs an HDMI passthrough.
Then after more research I found this: Govee WiFi TV LED Backlights with Camera, Smart RGBIC Ambient TV Light for 55-65 inch TVs PC, Works with Alexa & Google Assistant, App Control, Lights and Music Sync, Adapter Powered https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LVPWQQP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_W3PEA9K9R0R037TPPTAT
It was on sale for $60. Now the build quality isn’t nearly as solid. The light strip is the thin adhesive everyone has seen. It doesn’t get as bright as the Hue but the Hue is also too bright at its highest setting anyway. But it works great and it uses a camera to relay what it sees to the lights with no more lag than the Hue strip had, which was next to zero. I positioned my camera on the bottom of my tv, behind the soundbar so it’s out of sight out of mind.
Anyway I say all this because it’s a GREAT alternative. I actually ended up returning the Philips setup and sticking with a $60 alternative with no regerts. Plus the Hue Sync stuff is very out of stock for the light strip setup. I’d give this is a shot if like me you were really trying to scratch that cool light show itch. Plus since the camera does the translating it also works with whatever source is on the tv.
Also like other people said it really is something you use a few times and it’s cool and then very rarely after. Basically only on big shows or movies. Then it just kinda sits there.
I realize this is super long but I hope it helps!
If you are looking for a cheaper, but still good option, check out Govee immersion lights:
