Get an electric pressure cooker and you can do any slow cooked meal in about an hour. You can make stews, roasts, even wholesome stocks in short order. I teach a cooking class once a week and a lot of my students have slow cookers, so I use my EPC to show them what can be made in ~4 hours or so, but I can do it much faster. Beans from dry take very little time. It also works as a slow cooker and rice cooker. Here's a video about the Instant Pot showing the benefits. It can open up a huge variety of foods with little effort.
For quite a bit less than the Instant Pot, I bought THIS. It does everything the IP does, and even has the stainless pot. I have been using electric PCs for years and it is by far the most used appliance in my home. I have a lot of kitchen toys, but none make cooking as versatile as my EPC.
