If you can read some French I recommend jumping right into Grammaire Progressive du Français - Niveau débutant. There's also an answer book sold separately. Everything is written in French and that's part of the charm (and more reading practice!). Another highly recommended grammar book is here, written in English. If you're totally starting out then this one is highly rated. You'd want to supplement all that with Assimil, and several other tools.
