That's not a normal request, but I don't think its the worst idea ever. As long as the AE helps you write it up and gives you the list and the tools to automate sending it out. I would also expect the list of contacts that you send it to to be technical stake holders, like devs or architects or something.
Normally the presales job is to be the technical expert to guide a prospect towards choosing your product in a technical capacity. So demo's, technical RFPs and things like that.
Since it's not normal, you could say no if you felt weird about it - maybe chat with your boss.
So to answer your original question, I would ask your AE to write the content or at least collaborate with you on the content.
A good piece of the advice would be to keep them short, relevant, and offer some kind of opinion that genuinely helps the prospect.
