This whole setup cost me less than $150 and should make for a great winter home for my Lophophora collection & experiments.
FYI — the light you see is a Chinese knockoff but it’s one of the best I’ve ever purchased for the price, $19.99 on Amazon, (see here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08S34165C?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share). Low-heat, solid intensity for the purpose, and comes w/ dimmer, humidity/temp gauge, extra straps, etc.
I want to check that these would be all right before I order them. Yes I know about Mars Hydro and SF but I don't want to spend that until I see if I am any good at this and if I actually enjoy the hobby. I'm debating doing a 3X3 tent and want to try growing three autos and one photo period plant.
I couldn't find too much information about this brand but reviews looked all solid. More than one reviewer mentioned that though light measurements are accurate. Thanks https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08S34165C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_glt_fabc_V8QHH0J9W3TPMYB1W1TP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Those red/blue lights make a blu-ish purple light, that's why that style of lighting is commonly called "blurple". They SUCK. Dont waste your money on them. The idea behind them is based on the light spectrum in blues and reds and how it correlates to photosynthetic activity, but that's since been proven hog wash. You want a full spectrum light. These lights are cheap and effective. I have 5 of them. They are about the best bang for your buck I have been able to find. If you want to spend a little more money, I really like these. The first lights will grow plants effectively, but not provide too much PAR. The second lights are awesome. They put out a ton of PAR.
This is the one I used. It's gone up a bit, but it worked.

Check some of my post history and you can see some of my grows with that light.
I would be tempted to try this one out. Very low cost but uses good LEDs and has a dimmer. https://www.amazon.com/Briignite-Spectrum-Coverage-Dimmable-Seedling/dp/B08S34165C/ref=psdc\_14252941\_t1\_B08ZMWCLHC?th=1
Light is too weak, two of them equaling 40 watts would be a minimum. You'd be better off with PAR38's or better yet 1 or 2 of these for the same price

This is a small cheap, but effective light panel with a footprint which is impressive for $22
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08S34165C/ is $30 right now. I have the same diodes in a larger board, they work good. Samsung LM281 (it's last year's LEDs but would do the job. ~60W)
