I have these LED grow lights I bought from Amazon: LED Grow Light for Indoor Plants, Auto ON & Off 6H/10H/12H Timer, Dommia Ultra Thin Full Spectrum Sunlike Plant Growing Lamps for Greenhouse, Plant Gr https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NX1N3YJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_eNvle49QTwOKf
i got grow lightbulbs for my lamps (sorry i said plants lol) on Amazon just searching grow lights. they’re also at big box stores towards the garden section! and these are the grow panels i got for my plant shelves. they’ve provided the sun stressing light i was looking for in my pink blush aloe so i’m pretty pleased with them!
i got some grow light panels and they’re easy to install and give so much more light. i also got grow light bulbs and replaced the lights in my lamps to mimic sunlight as i live in a house covered by shade with awkward windows.
Thank you ! It’s super simple they even have an auto on and off setting DOMMIA Grow Lights for Indoor Plants, 20W Full Spectrum LED Grow Light with Auto ON & Off Timer, 132 LEDs Sunlike Plant Light for Hydroponics, Succulents & More, Easy to Assemble(2Pcs) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NX1N3YJ/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_7YAKN80QQ2WXBCWT0VYK
Amazon cheapos, only been using them for a week and my plants are going nuts. Need to return the bar lights on the other shelves and pick up more of these. I got two different brands but I like these ones more, they are bright as shit and barely put off any heat at all.
I'm trying to start some tomatoes indoors until I can get them ready to give to my father in law to transplant. I will get them outside into the sun when they get true leaves but I'll be shuffling them in and out until I give them to him. I don't have a very sunny yard is the reason I'm hoping this could get through the early stage. Will these be sufficient to get them started?
A little citric acid works wonders when cleaning anything aquarium related.
No experience with xenia, but it makes sense. People do display refugiums and I can see that being part of it. Most use cheato because of how well it grows, how good a nutrient sink it is, and how dead easy it is. I don't think it'd work in your application, though.
For the lights, I was thinking something like these guys. Slap 2 of them around the outside of the canister and you're set. Probably wouldn't want to go with more, else it could risk burning the cheato.

I have a bunch of these and love them
I was just watching a video the other day from Miss Orchid Girl where she had reviewed these after a year and was very happy with them. I have them in my cart but haven't ordered yet - waiting to find the right shelf.

Theres so many options on Amazon but I'm not sure which ones people are using. All I can say is that theres a few lighting options, but full spectrum is probably the most like real sunlight. They also make plates you can attach under a shelf, like this:

The ones in the pic are 20w Dommia LED panels from Amazon. They come 2 for around $20. Each of the cubbies in this pic has 2 panels in it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NX1N3YJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
These are rectangles, but I’m really happy with them. I just used them on regular shelves.
apologies. here's the second link. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NX1N3YJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Indeed they are, if they are bright enough. Every last one of my dozens of cacti and succulents are under various grow lights and some under standard white under-cabinet lights and they are beautiful.
These are especially good for cacti and succulents and used in my greenhouse, attached under the shelves: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NX1N3YJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
This one is also excellent and brightness can be adjusted: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FSLC9Z8/
I like these. Although I would swap the power supply for something beefier with a timer.
