I used Gundam paint markers. I also used the blue and silver from this set. Goldar and Scorpina (my comment with the link had the new picture) have gold on then as well from the marker.

Just used the gundam metallic paint markers. Set came with gold, silver, blue, green, red and a black shader marker. As you can see by the belt line it doesn’t match completely, not as dark, but does look great for his legs and on the side of his helmet. Was $14 on Amazon for the pack of gundam paint markers.
I believe it was this set. I used the blue and gold for Cheetor. The blue also worked great on Prime's lower legs. A pretty good match for the blue that's already there. The gold I also used for Dinobot's lower legs. The silver worked nicely to detail Prime's trailer.
You can use the regular gold gundam marker. It won't be as shiny and lustrous as the painted gold parts Bandai gave you but it won't stand out.
If you want a shiny gold Gundam marker, the gold gundam marker from the metallic Gundam Marker set (this one) is there. If you haven't buy a Gundam marker set yet, I think it'll be worth your while.
Not too sure about the Tamiya one, honestly.
But if you want to paint, paint the parts silver and then use clear yellow on it. If you think clear yellow is too yellow, put a very very thin layer clear orange over it. EDIT: There is also the option of Mr. Color GX Clear Gold.
Remember to test on a plastic spoon, first.
If you're painting with lacquer, make sure to prime the parts. Use black gloss primer for metallic colours. Mr. Surfacer 1500 black is recommended.
Thanks! Here ya go, it's about the same price I paid, too. Only extra advice I'd point out is that the colored ones aren't very good on their own for eyes, it's just not solid enough, but layering it over gold or silver works really well.
I literally just finished painting the same parts you did but used this instead. Will definitely try to pics when I'm done hopyfully by Thursday!
i used a silver gundam pen form this set https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KBRFOIU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. The color match was perfect. It worked ok for the nose, but I didn't risk trying around his eyes. If I had a good glue I might try splitting the halve of the head and doing a more thorough job then gluing it pack together..
Thanks looks like I inspired someone xD. These are the markers I used btw! Good Luck! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KBRFOIU?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details

it was this set. I used the blue and gold for Cheetor. He started as the standard (non Netflix) version.
The markers he is talking about can be found in this set.
There is also this metallic green available separately
These are the two marker sets I picked up:

I want to use that Metallic gold on the Liger Zero's claws and teeth specifically. Everything else I mostly bought for using on my actual Gundam kits.

The silver pen from this set https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KBRFOIU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_0A-dFbBFKA9AW is what I used on mine pictures are here: https://imgur.com/gallery/2rwp0x5I was surprised by how well it matched up.
Sorry for the bad quality, I'm no photographer. In the first pic I tried to get one of where I extended the silver underneath his chest further back. So that's a side by side comparison of both silvers.
Edit: I did the nose too it think it matches pretty perfectly with his mask.
question about gundam marker.
so im looking for blue metallic marker, google it and i found this product.
https://www.amazon.com/GSI-Creos-Gundam-Metallic-Marker/dp/B00KBRFOIU

Keep it a secret okay? ;)
I'm not home at the moment to check up close but the gold I used came from this set https://www.amazon.com/GSI-Creos-Gundam-Metallic-Marker/dp/B00KBRFOIU/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1494274839&sr=8-4&keywords=gundam+marker
I use gold, silver, and copper paint markers specifically gundam markers and sharpies
For the gundam markers I got the metallic gundam marker set: https://www.amazon.com/GSI-Creos-Gundam-Metallic-Marker/dp/B00KBRFOIU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467993243&sr=8-1&keywords=gundam+marker+metallic
The gold and silver from that set is super useful but the other colors less so, they're okay but can be really uneven in the color they put out so I'd suggest for the other colors only for small and very few spots on a kit to lower your chances of getting inconsistent color (again though this is not a problem with the gold and silver they're great)
For the sharpies I used a metallic marker pack that I bought at Wal-Mart that has gold, silver, and bronze: https://www.amazon.com/Sharpie-Metallic-Permanent-Assorted-1829201/dp/B007QNWC3M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467993555&sr=8-1&keywords=Metallic+sharpie+markers (It was like this pack, same markers but only one of each and it was really cheap like around $3-$5)
The sharpies are great they don't really spill like the gundam markers can but the downside to them is that they can kind of streak easily especially on bigger surfaces and they can rub off fairly easily which is great for cleaning areas where you accidentally covered, but can be a little frustrating when the color rubs away on areas that you wanted the metallic color (top coat helps protect the paint)
