That's the current theory based on the "Survival Mode" comment from the 2019 Discover Hope, some kind of adapted Covenant or Forerunner stasis technology.

In a hot off the presses blurb, amazon has a posting for the limited edition of the Halo Encyclopedia which has a sample shot of the GEN3 MJOLNIR page. The text is mostly too frustrating to read, but it does reveal that GEN3 has something called a "Life Maintenance Web" which may be related. Then again, one of the few words I can make out from that blurb is "augmentation package" so it might be unrelated.
