You can dust the place with a little bit of diatomaceous earth. It's harmless to humans/pets but deadly to most things with exoskeletons (bugs, insects, etc). Just be sure that when you dust, it's very light.
Here's a one with an applicator on Amazon
If you want a cheap non-toxic solution, get some Diatomaceous Earth like HARRIS Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade, 4lb with Powder Duster Included in The Bag. Its food grade so you can eat it, safe around pets but kills Ants, Spiders, etc. I dust it all over the place when I see ants, leave it for a bit then either blow the excess away with my Blower outside or vacuum inside. It does the trick and they stay away. You can also put some on your dog or cat to kill and keep fleas away as a non-toxic solution.
Diatomaceous Earth works VERY well. But I'd like to add an addendum for your safety. Some grades of Diatomaceous Earth contain crystalline silica and is unsafe to inhale if it's airborne. Such as when applied with a duster.
Secondly, you need to make sure to buy FOOD GRADE in case one of your cats puts some in their mouths. It's safer for ingestion.
You can pick it up on Amazon.
I wish you the best!
Just wanted to say - I had a roommate one time who adopted a cat and refused to take care of. Eventually got fleas and that led to flea infestation in our apartment.
Even if the cat is treated for fleas, if she had them when you took her in, there's a good chance you've got some in your couch, bed, or other areas, they can feed off your blood too and they're pretty difficult to get rid of once in the house.
The only thing that seemed to work for me was food grade diatomaceous earth. Just sprinkle it all over the affected areas every day for a couple weeks, then vacuum/wash sheets and linens to clean up. It's completely non toxic to animals and humans, since we have skin and insects do not.
The one I bought came with like a lil duster that blew out the powder. I just coated all the leaves with it, they looked like powder donuts for a while lol. But never saw the lil bastards again so 😌 This is the one I got.
Food grade diatomaceous earth. Use the puffer or a flour sifter to dust it all over the concrete. After they are gone, reapply as necessary, or around the perimeter of your plants as necessary. Always reapply after rain.
I’ve just recently won a months-long battle to get rid of German cockroaches. They were bad too- I woke up one morning to one crawling on my arm and decided to declare war. this stuff was my saving grace.
Buy it, pull out the bottom drawers in the kitchen and apply it down there. Apply it behind the fridge, on top of the cabinets, in the cabinets, in the drawer tracks, behind and under the stove, in the cabinet under the sink, and do the same in the bathroom. I went a step further and applied it around the baseboard heaters, windows, electronics, absolutely everywhere I could think of that the little demons could hide. It took a good 2 weeks for them to really disappear, but it did work. For the ones I did see, I just sprayed them with the plant based Raid.
Is it possible for you to do away with the feeder and do manual feeding (where the food is normally stored in a sealed container)? Any exposed food will attract roaches.
A good way I found to eliminate roaches (granted they are not as pervasive where I am) is to spray a thin layer of diatomaceous earth on the floor, and sweep it into all the cracks, corners, nooks and crannies. It is very important to clear the area of your cats, and wear a N95 mask, when you spray the powder. Inhaling it will destroy your lungs.
Real answer? Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade. $15 well spent. You can get at Lowes too. Construction sites use it to keep bugs out during build and it lasts a long time.
Fill applicator and squeeze powder as directed. We put DE in cracks, the patio sliding glass door track, in the walls, the high-up bathroom window's track, back of all sink cupboards and behind appliances, around the rim of garage. I don't fuck around.
My advice is to wear a N95/KN95 type mask, gloves, and maybe eye protection. Its not a poison danger for you so much as... imagine the discomfort of inhaling or getting talcum powder in your eye - like that. Once making contact, the organic compound shreds the exoskeleton of ants, roaches, termites, etc. Getting food grade means its not hazardous for you/pets.
Ants cause a phobia trigger for me so I have to stay on top of this aggressively or panic attack will occur. Trust me when I say, this shit is legit.
Yeah, I feel you. I HATE parasites!! Especially ones that live on me and do not die!! I was so disgusted and frustrated with having bugs in my hair that I could not get rid of.
I promise you that this will work. Spray your bed sheets too. You don’t necessarily have to wash every day if you are spraying and dusting your bedding with this. https://www.amazon.com/Harris-Diatomaceous-Earth-Powder-Duster/dp/B072J8Z28F
Dust your bedsheets, comforter and pillows with it once and then spray with the oil/water mist daily or 2x a day as you see fit and wash your bedding every few day or once a week.
DE works like borax but you don’t have to vacuum or it wash it out. Just don’t breathe it if you can help it. Rub it on your body too after bathing and spraying for full eradication. The good thing is that it acts like dry shampoo while killing those nasty things. Just keep in mind that it may be drying on your hands and feet but it will save you hours and hours of laundry time and, hopefully, your sanity.
The end is in sight! Start this today, you will feel instant relief, I promise you. Mark your calendar and 3 weeks later you will never have to deal with this again.
Run to Walmart for a one stop shop with the exception of DE.
Borax - $5 Walmart EO - $3-5 each Walmart DE with duster - $15 Amazon Spray bottle - $4 Walmart Alcohol- $1 Walmart
The Kitten Lady on YouTube has some great tips for dealing with fleas on neonatal kittens.
Dish soap isn’t going to kill fleas. Use an actual flea bath for cats and kittens, you can find it on Amazon.
You can also dust your carpet with diatomaceous earth, you can find food grade diatomaceous earth on Amazon with a duster included for about $15 and it’s safe to use around animals(not on them though!!).
You also want to get those kittens up off the carpet! Buy some big storage containers there’s a two pack on Amazon right now for $35 and they’re 16”x28” which is more than big enough for mom and babies.

Failing all of that, google no kill shelters and start calling around to see who can take both moms and kittens. It sucks that you’ll have to give away your cats, but it’s better than all those kittens dying of anemia from the fleas. And please spray your cats immediately after these kittens are weaned if you don’t have to give them up and keep them inside!
Edit: I should mention, don’t use the lids on the storage bins and sterilize and clean them daily while trying to get rid of the fleas. Also, clean the ever loving shit out of one room of your dwelling and sequester everyone to that room if you can.

Where are you located?
Where I am in the US, you can order food grade diatomaceous earth from Amazon and get it in a day or two. All pet and seed and feed stores sell it also, as well as nutrition stores and some vets, as they use it to treat fleas and mites on birds and mammals. It is non-toxic, quite safe.
Last time I bout some I got it on amazon.

Hey! I'm sorry to hear that!
We just had a terrible flea problem recently, I was getting bit all over, and because my roommates only wanted to use natural treatments, I agreed to buy food grade diatomaceous earth on Amazon (instead of using raid or something). Be sure not get the pool grade one.
This is what we use. It was around 13 bucks for a huge bag we've used for two years.

That stuff worked like a dream! Maybe suggest that as a natural treatmentto get them on board??
You can literally rub it straight into the animals' fur, sprinkle over all carpet and pet bedding, we put in on the window sills, around the outside perimeter of the house, I even swept it across all the floors and into the cracks along baseboards. I'm talking everywhere.
And yeah it was gross and dusty at first. You'll find that fine powder everywhere. But just give it a couple days, then vaccumm like crazy, taking the bags out often. I swear it works. The cats are no longer itching. We do it again every 3-4 weeks throughout the summer months, because more eggs may hatch, even if you got all the adults.
If they are willing to medicate, for 10 bucks I also recommend PETARMOR FastCaps (nitenpyram) Oral Flea Control Medication, 2-25 lbs, 6 count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K0PZ0HI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_0DDhBbZN1XZY8
It's pretty cheap. It's not a substitute for a monthly flea meds, but if you give the animals a pill, all the adults fleas currently on them die within an hour. It's magic. And not dangerous to give pretty frequently. So the second we see them itch, we hit them with another dose.
I know these options will take some buy in from the roommates, I hope you can convince them to think of their pets pain (and yours too if you're being bit).
Wait, really? Is this real advice? TIL if so.
I'll also add that this powder stuff kills them just sprinkle that junk everywhere, and this spray around the bed kills them.
Here's a tip you won't find easily too: the spray stinks up your room for days, and the powder irritates the shit out of your skin if it gets on you and also takes forever to clean out of the vacuum.
100% worth it though
