Yea, i never heard of it before last weekend in a desperate ditch effort to find something that kills bugs and can be gotten on amazon fast lol.
Make sure you have the food grade diatomaceous earth, and not the pool grade. Pool grade is poisonous to all, food grade is killer to insects but mammals can eat it lol.
yea, the fact it never loses its potency since its mechanical is amazing. the only downside is how messy it can be, imagine tossing fine flour all over your house lol.
tonight after work, came home and inspected and have yet to find any mites crawling around. I think it may have worked totally now. I am still going to leave it there for at least another week JUST to be safe, as there may be eggs that will hatch and the newborn mites walk right onto the stuff and die. lol sounds cruel but fuck bugs!
This is the stuff I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D4QW6DZ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also dusted the empty hamper we have, and any clothes i toss in the hamper, I dust a little so no insect can live in my dirty clothes till they wash.
buns are more active and happy. I gave them an extra bowl of water JUST in case, as this stuff seems to suck moisture out of the air too, my hands are a bit dry so the buns need more liquid to drink. other than that and making sure they dont get any dust clouds around them, its totally safe. I saw a video of someone's two hedgehogs rolling around in a pile of it like a dust bath lol
DE will take care of them. You’ll have to reapply if it gets wet / moist. I laced ours with sugar so they would take it back to the nest. On top of that (we had black ants everywhere when we moved in but formerly TX resident) if you have birds that frequent your yard sprinkle some seed along with the DE. It’s harmless to animals if you get the food grade kind and the birds ate up the ants.
Takes about 24 hours for the first kill. I can still remember my first encounter with the little fire fu$&kers as I was talking to a friend on the phone while I enjoyed a nice cool 90 degree Texas night and they attacked the hell out of my legs.
Also turned our leaf blower into a giant DE spreader for the back yard after the grass browned off and ticks were partying (away from the garden and flowers) Load up and go!
FYI DE is harmful to insects that have exoskeletons like ants but also bees so “bee” selective where you place it. Some DE comes with a puffer (turkey baster works) you load up and squeeze to spread it- maybe shoot directly into their “Castle of Stupid”
~ “Castle of Stupid” that is so brilliant OP. I can think of a giant house that could be renamed that.
I think the bath and cap-Star will probably kill the fleas, and you did the right thing taking the baby in, but it does take time to work. I would not worry about an infestation, but something that works great and is a safe powder like you can vacuum up, I suggest for fleas is this:
This is messy but I promise it works! It works on fleas, bed bugs or most shelled insects. It basically smothers them. It is non toxic to humans or pets. I sprinkled my carpet and left it for about 24 hours then vacuumed. If it doesn’t completely solver your problem, it should minimize it.
DE is your friend in the early stages of pepper plants to keep the pests away. Also it needs a little more water, it looks like its getting dry mid day. Can you run a second water cycle on them?

Okay, first off, order this DE poweder, it is safe for you and pets to eat so no worries there. This will cut into the shell of the roach causing them to dehydrate and die. Sprinkle this in every seam, crack and crevice in the house, all around furniture and appliances. Sprinkle it on your counters every night before bed.
Roaches love heat and that means your toaster, computer, tv, microwave.... you can bag or seal in a box these small appliances. Right before you seal it, spray a good dose of Raid inside the box, leave it sealed for 48 hours. Anything in there will die.
mice eat roaches and roaches eat mouse poop
Clean, clean, clean! They can survive off of the smallest morsel of grease for years!
If the house was already infested before you moved in, you will need an exterminator to come in a few times. Our upstairs neighbors gifted them to us and they were bad. They were even up under the siding of the house.
Good luck!
I’m actually seeing a doctor that uses vitamin IVs to flush, then he adds Glutathione to that lab. He says the liver needs to be flushed and detoxed before I start Nystat or Diflucan. I think he’s right about the liver being overwhelmed and must be flushed. I’ll be getting the Liposomal Glutathione in the meantime. Also physical sweeping with... HARRIS Diatomaceous Earth Food... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D4QW6DZ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Baking soda water helps, coffee enema to flush the liver.
It's difficult to find in Dubai but "Food Grade Diatomacous Earth" powder is the safest and the most effective way of pest control for my experience. I have ordered it from Amazon and I can say that I am quite happy with the results. It's really effective. My two cats did not show any signs of disturbance or reaction to powder. You just need to reapply the dust time to time since they lose their effectiveness when they get wet due to humidity.
this is what I got and I still have most of the bag left. It really lasts forever and you barely use any since it is supposed to be a dusting. Even heavily dusting still doesn't use much. I hope sharing specific items is allowed. This was just the deal I got when I first needed it most
If you have carpet, pull them from the edges with pliers and sprinkle this.
Additional places, above kitchen cabinets, door entryway, window, gaps between the appliance.
dicotomus earth is basically asbestos for bugs, it scratches the bug skins and dries them out.
I’m not a Spanish speaker, but I think it’s tierra infusoria (according to google.) Here is a link to a bag of it that you can buy off of Amazon (in Spanish): https://www.amazon.com/-/es/infusoria-Alimento-vegetal-desempolvador-incluido/dp/B07D4QW6DZ. I’m on my phone so I can’t translate the page to see exactly what it says, but it’s called “food-grade” (in English at least) because some people put it in animal feed. It still kills fleas regardless.
Amazon has it
This is Ottawa but it's where I got mine and it's def worth mentioning;

Buy this - Diatomaceous Earth and a sprayer:
https://www.amazon.com/Harris-Diatomaceous-Powder-Duster-Included/dp/B07D4QW6DZ/
** Make sure you wear a N95 mask when you spray the powder, or you will destroy your lungs. No joke **
Spray it all around your house, a thin layer on the floor and counter tops. Use a broom and sweep the dust into any cracks, nooks, crannies, corners, baseboard. This will stop the ants from coming.
If you use Terro, you need to leave it out there for a few weeks, allow all the ants to come and eat it, and they will eventually die off.
To get rid of bugs for good get something called food-grade Diatomaceous Earth (DE) - it's a powder made from fossilized critters that are very tiny and sharp as glass.
It cuts the bug's body and they dry up. They carry it back to the other bugs when they walk on it and it will eliminate all the bugs.

We've used it to kill fleas (and it worked really well for that). It's messy - but just sprinkle it every where (behind furniture) on the kitchen counters, on the floor, carpets, in the cabinets (move the dishes and just sprinkle it in there and put the dishes on top). Put it under the sinks too. Because we had fleas we also sprinkled it in the cats bedding and at the foot of our bed between the fitted and the top sheet. We also put it on the cats! :)
We used a strainer (like you use for powdered sugar) and put it every where.
You will want to clean up your room and get your clothes off the floor and get rid of old food. That will also help.
Keep your towels and clothes off the floor until the powder has done it's job - it takes about 3 weeks. If it gets wet, reapply it.
Amazon has a goodly amount for about $15.00 and it's enough to last you for years.
The best part is that it will help your neighbors since the roaches travel around.
Make sure that you vacuum it up and throw it out after 3 weeks and then just sprinkle the perimeter of your apartment rooms with it. It will keep working and hopefully you'll not see any more bugs!

I’d highly recommend diatomaceous earth
Along with chicken herbs
(Put herbs in nesting beds and diatomaceous earth on the chickens)
