Your left-photo hair is how my hair looks like on a daily basis; curly/wavy hair roughly the same length, and just as dry!
I'd love for my hair to look like the photo on the right! I didn't even know it was possible to get it to look like that. So from what you posted, I should co-wash my hair twice a month and let it dry before going to sleep (I read that cold drying it helps in a pinch if you need to get your hair dry fast, what do you think about that?) How often do you wet/wash your hair with water when you're taking a shower?
I just ordered some 100% natural argan oil from Amazon; I'm hoping to get the results you get from using it. I currently use almond oil on my hair and it feels heavy and greasy whenever I use it, on top of not getting my hair to style correctly.
For argan oil use, you say to use a small bit at first, but then you say you use more argan oil than you do coconut oil, so it confuses me. I'm assuming I'm supposed to use little amounts of the argan oil and increase until I get the perfect amount of moisture in my hair?
I was actually diagnosed with having seborrheic dermatitis and was told it doesn't go away; that feel when dandruff for life :( I've been using a medicated head and shoulders shampoo to fight the dandruff, and it has really worked for me, but at the cost of extremely drying my hair and scalp. (link to shampoo https://www.amazon.com/Head-Shoulders-Clinical-Seborrheic-Dermatitis/dp/B0043OSIVM/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1478375434&sr=8-1&keywords=head+and+shoulders+medicated)
Can anyone tell me if this shampoo works as a reset wash? If not, could you explain why?
Also, how often is it okay for me to reset wash? I have dandruff that I have only found to go away after using this specific shampoo, so I am curious how often I can use it (assuming that it's okay to use as a reset wash)
Thanks!
I’m not a doctor but I had scalp psoriasis for so long and I shaved my head because I needed to see how bad it was and I was shocked. Raised sores that get bloody when you pick them I’m sorry to say this fit the description of mine 100%. Is it all over your head? Can you see and red or scales on your hairline? Luckily hair covers it so no one can really see it but it’ll drive you crazy the longer you don’t go to your dermatologist.
I’m gonna be brutally honest cause I wish someone was with me when I was in your situation, none of the tar shampoos, oils you had to leave in your fucking scalp for 20 minutes that burned like hell, or foams ever worked and probably damaged my hair in the long run. If it’s bad then ask your doctor about biologics because it’s a pain in the ass using all these different products and barely worked. Now that’s just me it could work great for you but it’s no fun.
A shampoo that’s great for the itching that I use though that also doesn’t smell like tar is head and shoulders clinical strength
head and shoulders clinical strength
It won’t help with the actual psoriasis but it relieves the dandruff and itching a good bit.
Best of luck to you man and I hope things work out
Never wear the same diaper more than once.
Although it may not feel like it, your skin is covered and sweat and oils. You get these on a diaper and let it sit and skin irritating fungus and bacteria will grow exponentially on it. You really don't want to put it back on your skin. (same reason you shouldn't wear any clothes for more than a day, if you can help it.)
So, how to deal with it?. . .a few thoughts.
It is going to sting and burn, but rub the entire area down with isopropyl rubbing alcohol (hand sanitizer works to a lesser degree, if you cannot find alcohol during these pandemic times) and let it air dry for five minutes than rinse the area off. This will kill or dissolve most irritants on the skin.
Buy some Head & Shoulder Clinical Strength Shampoo. . .lather up the area and let it sit for five minutes before rinsing it away. This should help with any fungus growing in the area. . .and it will soothe current irritation.
I would refrain from wearing at all until the itching clears up. . .and be sure you're wearing a new clean pair of underwear everyday.
The old school poor high school wrestler's trick was to use some anti-dandruff shampoo with Selenium Sulfide in it as a body wash. Head & Shoulders makes a brand of it that's something $13-14 for a 2-pack on Amazon. I've had ringworm a few times in the past but never since I began using this method. Just begin by washing your hair then lather it up on the rest of your body.
I have a pretty bad dandruff problem, and need some shampoo that would help. I like it when I don't have my personal snowstorm!
I've not been officially diagnosed with psoriasis but I had really bad dandruff, and an oily and itchy scalp. I tried all kinds of stuff that didn't help. This stuff worked though. Haven't had any problems since.
If its follicuilitis, and those are pimples in the pic, my dermatologist told me to use https://www.amazon.com/Head-Shoulders-Clinical-Seborrheic-Dermatitis/dp/B0043OSIVM?ref_=d6k_applink_bb_marketplace
It worked for me so far
In case anyone is finding this thread at a later date, I still don't have confirmation that it is sebderm, but I've managed to greatly shrink the affected area with a combination of Head and Shoulders Clinical Strength shampoo and Shanghai Yaozao soap. Just the shampoo probably would have worked, but we had some of the soap lying around and I figured it wouldn't hurt.
This is the one I use: https://www.amazon.com/Head-Shoulders-Clinical-Seborrheic-Dermatitis/dp/B0043OSIVM
I also use their conditioner, any of them will work fine. The shampoo is what's important
