This is the exact housing the Hifi Walker H2 uses. Anyone know if the firmware is the same, and if Rockbox is then compatible with the Hifi Walker H2? I'm guessing yes since it specifically mentions clones.
Edit: Answered my own question, the Rockbox website confirms this! This might be the one thing that could make a Hifi Walker H2 actually functional. Now if I only remembered enough about Rockbox and manual installation to be confident in trying it out...
If you can provide a some information about the state of Rockbox and the manual installation process, I'll give it a go. Is Rockbox installed as a secondary OS on these devices, or does it replace the original FW? Is the manual installation process relatively straightforward? (Where do I even go to find the installation process since the information on this page is very limited?)
Sadly, my 2 year old MP3 player has broke down. It was great. I mostly used it for my car since I don't use earphones or headphones and it sounded great. I preferred over my phone because for some reason the MP3 made the music sound more powerful. And say I had my MP3 at 30% of max volume right? Well at 30% it sounded better and louder than my IPhone at 50-60%.
So yeah I want an MP3 over an ITouch or something. By the way the MP3 I had was an Sony Walkman NWZA17SLV 64GB.
So any recommendations? I would love to buy another Walkman but sadly this new generation of Walkman's go for about $500. and the older ones only have like 16GB.
The one I was eying was this one: HIFI WALKER H2 High Resolution Bluetooth Digital Audio Player Portable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072C4YPCG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ZeOZzbZE0GZWS
It's cheap and has memory but I'm not sure if it's a good brand.
